For several months now it has been misbehaving - failing to connect, very slow or constant buffering, “insert sim card and restart”
I have been lax in getting something done about this issue
Made an appointment with telstra to change over to an updated model without changing my plan.
Have you ever had this problem?
Why not use your mobile phone as a wifi “hotspot”, might involve changing your mobile plan but much cheaper than running two SIM cards.
Phone not wifi compatable. Not a smart phone.
Oh, that’s a pity.
You could try taking the SIM card out and soaking the contacts in the dongle in alcohol (metho would do) rubbing them with a cotton bud and wiping the contacts on the SIM with a bit of alcohol.
Let it dry then put it back together and try it again. You’ve got nothing to lose.
I’ve booked with telstra at 10.30am, get them to change it for an newer model.
This one might be a least 8 years old.
It might be worth asking them about a smart phone deal, changing the phone might work out about as cheap. Smart phones are remarkably cheap these days especially if you only need the hotspot feature.
If owning a smart phone is not essential, it soon will be.
