Mrs mart likes her hair shoulder length. I use this handy thingy to cut it. Best done when the hair is wet. Put the hair in the clamp and level it up. She does a bit more to the front after the back has been cut
Edit: She has some proper hairdresser scissors but any that are sharp enough ought to do.
My hair is one length and I snip the ends myself. Always cut the family’s hair myself too. The boys now go to these Turkish barbers and pay for their own trims/beard maintenance. Girls pay a fortune to keep the latest trends. I’m happy to have saved a fortune.
Used to accompany my Dad to the barber when I was a child. He would always get a lollipop for me. Mum would always say “get a short back and sides” but he would come back with his own choice and say “I don’t think he heard me” @OldGreyFox maybe you should try that one!
I go about every 4 or 5 weeks for a trim. I always go on a Wednesday, as it’s cheaper, and the girl who does it best, is on that day. Had it done by this older woman on a Tuesday, and it was a shocker. Plus the fact she moaned about life in general during the cut.
I visit the hairdresser every six weeks for a trim to keep my hair looking tidy. I have been going to the same hairdresser for more than 20 years and see her as a friend now as well as a very good hairdresser.
Oddly enough I went on Tues. hadn’t been for about 18 months but she cut about 6” off length as it was almost down to my waist but very thin and wispy. Nobody knows because I always have an updo of some sort. Looks much thicker now.
My husband goes to the Turkish barber and they always give him a great stylish cut.
I go to the hair salon every 6 weeks for a dye, shampoo, cut & style. I’ve been going to the same one for years now. In that time I’ve only had two hair stylist, the latter one was taught by the former, so she knows how to do my hair. No way am I ever going to be grey.
The salon is also a barbers & my late OH used to go too & my late Son. Daughter never used it, she says is an OAP’s hair dressers, , actually they do get younger people, but most of us are pensioners.
I’ve always disliked going to the barber’s (which is in fact a hairdresser’s, too, since we have unisex shops only) for it was such a hassle having to book an appointment which would never fit in with my schedule. With corona and the subsequent need to have the hair washed I’ve stopped going there and do it myself with a machine every 4-6 weeks.
I simply run the clippers over mine…a zero. A bit brutal perhaps but it does the job and soon grows just a little to the required length. I keep thinking about getting some better quality salon quality clippers.
