How many ways do you cook potatoes?

Man saves washing up.

There is something in them raw , a natural toxin, that can cause vomiting and nausea if too much is eaten.

I love jacket spuds …and the odd naughty chip or ten :face_with_hand_over_mouth: … though I’m trying to cut them out

Cut them into wedges with the skins on, toss them in olive oil until coated, Maldon salt and freshly milled black pepper and bung in the air fryer. I’ve read that you can coat them in seasoned flour for extra crispiness! :yum:

Sounds tasty… … with a little garlic salt.

Yes, that’s the beauty of it, you can find tune the recipe as you see fit. I sometimes use different varieties of fresh or dried chillies. Or you could use dried herbs.

I just thought it was funny that he really put these peppers into an oven for (how many?) hours. Then he said he spends hours awake thinking how he could have done things differently in his life, how he could have just gone to the shop and bought a jar of paprika…

Wait until he’s an old man and realises he lived his whole life that way …

If I’ve time - dauphiniose potatoes - thin sliced (mandoline works a treat … but watch your finger tips), creme fraiche, garlic, perhaps coating of strong cheese.

Two ways to cook potatoes that I’ve not tried but surely must be good. Question - are they easy? Anyone tried these?

  1. gnocchi
  2. rosti

No I haven’t tried them but they sound interesting, especially the gnocchi. Italian.

We need some guinea pigs like we had for cooking snicker bars.

Hopefully it’ll continue to get a bit warmer ànd we can think about potato salad with fresh herbs from the garden and a simple vinagrette dressing.

I always boil double the quantity, so boiled with one day’s dinner and the next day fry them sliced for chips.

I do like dishes … meat, fish, veg, cheese based, just about anything, in a casserole dish with a layer of mash on top. Think from fish pie to shepherds pie to cauliflower cheese under mash. The sort of comfort food you can prepare in advance and keep warm.
