Some long bridges between Homestead and Key West along the Overseas Highway?
sorry can’t help.I only know Key Largo ![]()
i cheated and did a google search on it this is the answer i got
There are 42 bridges along the Overseas Highway that connects Florida’s mainland (south of Homestead) to Key West. These bridges span the Atlantic Ocean, the Florida Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico and are part of a 113-mile roadway that connects the Florida Keys
Crazy what engineers can build.
How old is this bridge?
Construction end 9 December 2005 only 20 years old
I am glad someone knew because I didn’t. For several years the northern and southern parts of Wollongong were separated because the road along the cliff became too dangerous to drive along due to falling boulders.
The trip from Coalcliff to Clifton went from about a minute to nearly an hour. Wollongong is a narrow strip of land between the ocean and the escarpment stretching from Helensburg to Yallah.
It’s more like one long bridge with a few keys scattered in between. It’s sadly not the place it used to be; it’s terribly overdeveloped and commercialized. Still, if you are plan a stop here and there, there are pretty beaches, tiny deer, and interesting spots to be discovered along the way.
Or this one in Rodanthe. Why anyone would build a bridge to see a beautiful coastal view only to ruin the view with the bridge they need to see the view is one of the most silly undertakings I have ever witnessed. Humans are goofballs
.
Yes, that bridge is irony at its most costly - in more ways that one!
You’ve got to feel sorry for the families who bought their dream home with a sea view.
There was no need to have that concrete wall taking up half the height.
Steel posts and a cable wire would have sufficed.
Making the journey a picturesque one.
The architect’s take on it might be to say, “Eyes on the road, not the view” ![]()
