The story of my meeting hubby is a quite long and complicated one. Well, I suppose it is only as long and complicated as I make it 
but the nuts and boltsā¦hubby was in London where I was working, at a bit of a low ebb in life and he sort of ārescuedā meā¦my knight in shining amour, complete with uniform and all.
Long and short of it, very romantic, in a warped sort of way.

I had just been discharged from the army, aged 21, and was looking forward to moving and turning a page in my life. A friend of mine knew that and invited me to a dance with a local band playing where heād bring some of his colleagues. One girl caught my eye and I couldnāt take my eyes off her. I knew my friend also fancied her but I thought Iād give it a try and let her decide. Luck was on my side and we began dating, then after four weeks spent a holiday together. After six months I quit my job and took another one in her city. Two years later we married, me being 23 and she 21. If we hadnāt married, we wouldnāt have got a decent apartment as an unmarried couple. Have been married for 43 years now. No regrets.
