Hi! I finally decided to join. This place seems like a great site.

Thanks Ripple! Searching for peaceful waters I guess. :slightly_smiling_face: Nah, not really. I visited here a while ago, and I didn’t spend the time to figure it out. But I love sharing music. This place has a lot of threads, and members seem friendly. :slightly_smiling_face:

Koo-Koo-Ka-Chew to you!

Another beautiful pic! When I figure out how to I’ll send you one from my garden. Speaking of I’ve lived in a bunch of states, but originally from Florida.
“Save the Oysters!” is what I say

Been here a while Russ, not sure what I am up to, but, if it is helpful, so be it.

Thank you kindly, Sir Walrus. Yes, I know you get pictures in time. But for now I can do some. I know you don’t have a pet - other than those in the fish tank. We have this little girl - she is adorable. This is her walking along the Roman Road near us.

She looks like sweet heart! I’ve lost my dog and 3 cats to old age over the last few years. Loved them so much. It’s hard to replace family.
I have to ask. How did you know my only pets currently are fish? Actually they’re my grandsons, but he keeps them here with me. I also managed to construct a koi pond in back.Took a couple of years, but it’s becoming part habitat for all sorts of trusting creatures as well.

He does look very smart. Totally tuned in.
Yea, I’d forgotten what I’d written in my Bio the other day. My few bull frogs have gotten to know me. I talk to them each evening at dusk, but they just keep staring at me. I think they’ve grown to trust me as a nonthreatening part of their habitat. The fish however love me for the feed.

Welcome Walrus. Not often do I welcome newbees, I must be slipping. :grinning: :grinning:

Hi Mr Walrus. Yes, feeding time for the Bullfrog and the fish. We don’t have any although one of my cousins has a huge tank with them. Moving along I think you said you are retired - what were you if you don’t mind me asking? For me it was electrical engineering in industry. Steel mills, cement works, water companies and various specialist things. Like The Orient Express…)

Thank you Tiffany. Gravity always wins!

Well Besoeker, it took me a while to think that I’d figured out. Finished college with a BA in fine arts then, on a whim, took a job working on off shore oil rigs in the gulf of Mexico, then got into banking for awhile, and then finally returned to school to add a teaching certification in to my degree in Art. So, 25 years later I retired from public school teaching. And since I’ve been an instructor at a “paint and sip” studio a couple a nights a week. It’s not fine art… it’s fun art…more of a party for most. I’m tiring of that though and have begun painting at home. Not as fun much more satisfying! Who knows what next…got to keep movin’! I think they need volunteers to walk impounded dogs at the shelter. Great place to meet other dogs such as myself

Well, thanks for that Mr W - Interesting and a bit of variety and the impressive degrees. And the off-shore projects. I did some work on the UK North Sea for the oil industry - not much and rather a long time ago that was. Different places and some interesting. This was one for tin mining in Malaysia:

Engineer, Besoeker, really interesting…I can’t imagine N Sea temperatures. That cold would be a game changer. Amazing that you’ve worked all over the world. and with huge new challenges. The stories you could tell I’m sure!

Hi Mr Wall Rus. Yes, interesting or maybe sometimes different. I think I have mentioned the Sahirah desert with the heat. The other extreme was the freezing cold in Canada at -18C or 0F. Now we just have UK moderate temperatures - usually. This year it has been the most extreme with no rain for several months and up to 34C (93F}. So dry.

Hi Pimmy, thanks for the welcome. Continuity has been somewhat of an issue. Having a few issues staying connected to the server or actually connecting at all. But it’s probably on my end. Tech isn’t really my thing. But again I thank you for your kind words.
