I worked at a garage my brother-in-law set-up decades ago. Been retired for quite a while but didn’t mind it! Lucky you for getting to travel so much. Most far flung place you went to? And yes, terryC it is!

I have to say Terry I’m quite intrigued by this podcast. Is it still available?
I’ll try to find out what it’s called! It was on in my pals car. Not to be too bleak but it was about coping with being a widow/widower and communities that can help and one of the suggestions was forums for over 50s. They didn’t mention this one by name but I like to think this is the one they were referring to! I’ll try to dig it out
Thanks Terry, if you can’t find it no worries
I’m a widower/single dad so that kind of resonates
I’m sorry to hear that. This does seem like a wonderful community to be part of. Very friendly and it’s raised a fair few smiles already today
Thanks Terry!
Spot on, that’s what I like about this forum, friendly with a variety of different people with different interests, it just seems to gel!
Okay, so there’s a bit of robust debate from time to time but that’s okay too.
terryC - that’s good ! One of my hobbies was car mechanics.
The travel ? One of the first was South Africa so I became Besoeker - it means “visitor”.
One of the most beautiful areas we SunMoon Lake in Taiwan. I spent some time in Taiwan.
Welcome to the forum Terry, I’ve only just seen you introduction, but we’ve spoken elsewhere and you sound like an interesting bloke, an asset to the forum.
Likewise Robert! That’s very kind of you.
I feel our interactions so far have been a pleasant mix of shared interests and hobbies, and wonderful schoolboyish naughtiness (are you as…ahem…excited as I am for Tracy’s Alice In Wonderland extra-descriptive retelling on Friday? ).
This is a great site so far, so thanks for making me feel so welcome. Have you encountered many other keen runners on here?
Hi Terry. Welcome to the forum . I hope you enjoy your stay.
There have been one or two Terry, Surfermom in particular is a very dedicated runner but has recently taken a break from the forum. There are also some swimmers and a few who enjoy going to the gym…And a few who keep promising to go…(You know who you are)…
Anything to brighten up a Friday Terry…The raunchier the better.
If Tracy is a good girl, I’ll tell her a story of my own…And if she’s a bad girl, I’ll even add a few photos…
Imagine if someone had gone up to Tracy’s pal after the Wonderland incident and said “just to let you know, in a few decades time, a big group of pensioners on a forum will be waiting with baited breath to hear all about it!” How crimson would she have gone?!
These days with smartphones the incident would have been well and truly documented Terry.
It seems you can’t do anything without it appearing on facebook or some other social media site…
Also very intrigued to hear this tale of yours! Cheers to that haha
Oh my, if that incident had been filmed and uploaded to social media…I think you and I would just be clicking ‘replay’ over and over again every day on Facebook! Our wives would assume we’re watching cat videos because we’d keep saying we’re ‘just zooming in again on an adorable little kitty!’
Ha Ha! only joking Chilli, I know you’re a very busy man…
I look forward to hearing about your workouts though…
Would you believe I was just on my way out for a job interview when I took that charming little selfie Foxy You raise a valid point…less in the way of promises and more action
I shall give myself a thorough nunchucking!
Don’t be too hard on yourself Chilli, life sometimes throws us a curved ball…
