My second one was 2 days and it was a civil law suit against an appliance company with a small oven faulty wiring , started a fire .

The appliance company I kid you not a dozen lawyers , the poor lady whose kitchen was destroyed had one lawyer .

She accepted their offer the second day but these were high powered gun slingers .

The judge was a real professional but you can see she knew this woman was doomed .

I have no idea what she settled for .

Undoubtedly there are exceptions to avoid conflicts of interest and work requirements but basically if you are on the electoral roll then you are in the ballot of jury duty.

Oh I agree and could have had any excuse but I didnā€™t and though now no dog in the fight I have even signed petitions to make Jury duty voluntary but like most petitions has not gone any where .
