Has Ai changed your life at all?

Have you even used Ai? Do you find it advantageous or not?
Every time I search something on the net, Ai response is always at the top of the page. I bypass it and scroll down.
I do my best to avoid it at all costs.
Do not really know why I am like this, but I just think that Ai is going to have more negatives on society than positives.

I have used it very rarely and only to do some research for something I was working on. But found the results questionable and it tried to steer me onto something completely irrelevant. Apart from that, I have no interest in it and scrubbed it off my system. I do see it as a threat to creativity and artistry in many areas, especially the written word and imagery, such as photography. It takes away the effort of research and study and could water down, if not eliminate, academic learning and achievement. People may come to depend on it, even though it does error and make mistakes - I have already seen examples of results of AI being regarded as unquestioning to those who hold it in regard, regardless it being wrong.

I’m sure AI will have a place, as I don’t see it going away any time soon, regardless if anyone loves it or hates it. And I’m sure the algorithms behind AI will only get stronger as time goes on.

So much that I see and read now on the net I do not know if it is the truth or not.
As Ai advances, I can see falsehoods predominating the net.
Making it unusable for absolute truths.

I used AI to create the Gold Muddy Award for the most Outrageous Forum post.

I was talking to the staff at the local council community offices and they reckon using M$ Copilot saves them hours in preparing reports

Have you awarded it as yet? :slightly_smiling_face:

I did elsewhere

I think most of what we refer to as Aye Eye is not Artificial Intelligence at all. Just slightly advanced computing, programmed by humans to do what it does.

Absolutely. It’s just a name for an advanced algorithm, but has no actual consciousness.

I don’t think things will go well for everyone the day AI actually achieves genuine intelligence and awareness - assuming it becomes possible.

I recently read an article by Stephen Hawking regarding AI…

The advent of super intelligent AI would be either the best or the worst thing to happen to humanity. The real risk with AI isn’t malice but competence. A super-intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing its goals, and if those goals are not aligned to with ours, we’re in trouble.

Better give the Cyberdyne Corporation a call and stop them from developing Skynet…

I have found it useful when I have a question and receive many conflicting answers from websites. It summarises things well. But when my office manager produced a parking permit for me the car registration was correct but the car make was wrong. He said he had my car reg on his records and used AI to get my car details.

Yes, simple errors in a new system that will take over the world.
I see trouble ahead.
Everyone will be fact checking answers given by Ai.

It’s being rolled out by companies and being used to reduce workload at a very fast pace. We have it for tons of things now and I noticed we are being encouraged to let it snoop on what we are up to, on the pretence that it’s helping us by interrogating our private folders to help us time manage and prioritise. It’s like a parasite infiltrating everything we do. Listening to us all the time. Totally creepy.
