Harry and Meghan will launch 'charm offensive' as they try to avoid New York nightmare - Take 7-car convoy around a single block

That comparison may be good or bad, depending the reader’s viewpoint.

Well, King Charles was a proper prince back then - by birth and not by marriage (or any other arrangement).

(1) That was another shock for Meghan:

I have no axe to grind either way.

I really don’t care what Meghan and Harry choose to do now that they are no longer funded from the Sovereign Grant or the British Taxpayer - for all I care, they can do whatever they like, within legal limits, of course.

I am neither a supporter nor a detractor of Meghan - which enables me to spot the unreasonable bias and prejudice that some folk and some media reports have against her.

My sense of justice can’t help pointing out unreasonable prejudice, though - but criticism of Meghan seems to provide plenty of “clickbait” so the newspapers and media outlets probably think of her as the goose that lays the golden eggs - the gift that keeps on giving!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived at a mental health summit in New York City in a convoy of seven blacked-out vehicles with NYPD escort (1) - five months after the pair were involved in what they described as a ‘near catastrophic car chase’ in Manhattan.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to host a panel discussion today at the World Mental Health Day Festival in what marks their first-ever in-person event for their charity, the Archewell Foundation.

Meghan, 42, arrived at the summit sporting a white strapless blazer (2) with matching white pants and heels, while her husband, 39, donned a dapper navy suit.

The couple were all smiles as they arrived at the venue, however they appeared to get emotional once the event kicked off, with both seen looking incredibly somber as the panel commenced - with parents who have ‘suffered tragic loss connected to their child’s social media use’ taking to the stage to share their stories.

(1) Not quite a Presidential motorcade but enough to say “We’re important”

(2) I didn’t know that there was such a thing but the style seemed more appropriate for an evening out rather than a mental health symposium.

They are obviously “important” enough for you and the media to keep checking up on their activities and reporting on them!

Your persistent and fulsome comments on the reports are, of course, much appreciated and will, no doubt, ensure that this thread continues to receive the attention that it deserves … :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for the “compliment” - but I don’t think my comments are fulsome - and I think your reporting efforts are sufficient to keep this thread going without my help.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took a seven-car convoy around a single block to attend the World Mental Health Day Festival in New York City on Tuesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left a garage near the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards, taking a left on 33rd Street in accordance with the one way street, only to end up in another garage on 33rd - 200ft from the first.

The eco-conscious couple’s convoy of seven gas-guzzling, blacked-out SUVs were flanked by NYPD escorts on the streets of Manhattan.

After the brief trip, the couple hosted a panel discussion at the World Mental Health Day Festival in what marks their first-ever in-person event for their charity, the Archewell Foundation.

I am gobsmacked at the self-importance of the Sussexes … :open_mouth:

Now this is more like a blazer:

:+1:

I expect it wasn’t cheap and it 's ridiculous.Being a fashion designer looks like easy money to me.

Meghan Markle was effortlessly elegant in a chic £6,424.46 monochrome ensemble as she attended the first-ever in-person event for the Archewell Foundation in New York yesterday.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, opted for all-white outfit, sporting Altuzarra ‘Bendix’ wide-leg pants, which are now retailing for £310.93 ($358.49) and an off-the-shoulder blazer from the same brand, going for £625 ($895).

She paired it with her trusty nude £554 ($598) pumps from Aquazzura, adding the perfect neutral complement to her all-ivory look.

Prince Harry’s wife also accessorised with statement-stud earrings from Sarah Hendler, which cost £1,547.53 ($1,900) and made a sweet tribute to her son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, by wearing his birthstone.

The £3,387 Queen Emerald Cut Cuban Choker made for a stunning addition, which elevated the Duchess’s look simply but effectively.
