As I remember it, Jem would have spent a couple of days (behind the scenes) preparing a lyrical delight then, usually at around 8.30pm, he(?) would woosh in, deliver it, say goodnight (coz he (?) was very active socially 
), this was about a once a week event, and that was that, this is what happens when you have too much Time on your hands.
