Good morning to all you happy folk out there spread all over the world. It was a damp morning for me the first rain of the month (0.5mm) fell over night. It is quite cool today.
Because of the overcast conditions I almost didn’t go for my walk this morning but common sense prevailed and I braved the slight chance of rain.
On my route there is a little cage of guinea pigs in someone’s front garden, I know they are guinea pigs because hamsters are an illegal pet and banned from Australia (thank goodness for that otherwise I wouldn’t know which rodents these were).
Such a cute cage, presumably they belong to the kids in the house.
I put some new clothes on the line last night expecting them to be dry this morning but the rain put paid to that.
My 3D printer is whirring away printing a new holder for my remote controls in the lounge. Because of my set up and the fact that basically I only watch streaming services I only used one to control the TV and the HiFi . However my visiting daughter brought one of her DVDs with her so we had to find the remote control for that and the amplifier to change my set up. So now I am printing a holder for the three remote controls
The DVD she brought was Getting Square, quite a good movie if you can find it, stars Timothy Spall and David Wenham.
Two deliveries yesterday, some more corals and a flash 4 wheeled walking device which can also be used as a wheelchair, with a seat backrest and bag to keep my gardening tools in.
The idea is that one of my helpers will get me down to my veg patch.
Unfortunately, unable to use it yesterday, very high Tree Pollen Levels which affected my breathing.
Another couple of deliveries today, other than that, a stay inside day due to the pollen levels.
Good morning - Overcast and dry. Forecast to brighten up later with a temperature of 18ºC
I’ll be undergoing a service this morning. The long-promised haircut is really going to happen. Mrs mart really is going to face doing it. Then comes a shower and after that, the Nephrostomy dressing and external plumbing bits will be changed. Good as new.
Morning all – yes sunny again today – is this really Britain!!
Seems strange that it is OK to have guinea pigs but not hamsters as pets Bruce. I know Australia has very strict rules about what can be imported into the country but if the hamsters are bred in Australia I wonder why they cannot be kept as pets.
Expecting more books to be delivered today – just as well as I finished my book yesterday and am getting withdrawal symptoms from a lack of reading material (I don’t count newspapers!)
My trick with the duct tape continues to baffle the squirrels and bird feeders remain in place.
My neighbour is due for an eye operation today – rang and wished him luck yesterday. Apparently he has a “bubble” in his eye and they will be inserting a needle to draw it out – sounds horrendous, makes me shudder just thinking about it! Surprisingly he will be back home this evening
More laundry today - where does it all come from? Apart from that will probably be spending time in the garden (sitting not working!)
I had a text message at 8pm last night to say my prescription is ready ,my anxiety levels were getting into over drive , but now I can calm down .
Its very grey here Im hoping the sun will come out and warm things up , Ive just put my heating up.
Its visiting day today so we will do the dog walk , the Glamping Tents have been set up in the field we walk through , guess they will be occupied this Easter Holiday .
I will see if I can get a photo of them .
These Glamping Sites are being set up all over , along with Shepards Huts .Money to be made by Farmers who are diversifying,.
Ive seen some of these tents with proper double beds in , theres no roughing it in this style of camping .
Good Morning From Robert’s Residence…
My knee feels good, like I should be walking on it…But I’ll give it another day.
Very foggy this morning as I did a solo visit to Tesco for the midweek shop, Mrs Fox wasn’t feeling too good so I left her at home watching the early morning news on telly…As if watching the news will make her feel any better…
I’ve arrived at that part of my book when it’s hard to put it down, so hopefully I’ll go to the end today…I always knew that woman was a bunny boiler…
Sorry, just thinking out loud…
Seen some good stuff with Timothy Spall in @Bruce, went to the pictures to see him in ‘Mr Turner’ the artist (not everyone’s cup of tea) and I see he’s made one about ‘Lowry’ now. He was brilliant in ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’ and while researching him, I was amazed at just how many films and TV stuff he has appeared in.
I didn’t know that pollen could affect breathing in such a way @swimfeeders Mrs Fox has some trouble with her eyes and sneezing with some pollens especially the yellow flowers on ‘Oil Seed Rape’ so we have to be careful where we walk while out in the country.
Sorry to hear you are confined to indoors, have you got a conservatory so you can sit in the sun? @mart I have also just had a haircut, it was getting on my wick so I told the lovely Kerry to run over it with a number 6…I love it, but Mrs Fox says she is going to live somewhere else until it grows…So it’s a Win Win situation…
The sun had just cleared away all the fog and there is a chair outside with my name on it so catch yer all later…
Glad to see that you are out and about, I have a friend with all these devices to get her out of the house. At the moment she is trying to get My Aged Care to put a concrete car slab near her front door and to replace the railing with one that doesn’t burn her in summer.
I don’t think Hamsters are allowed in the country at all, I think it is because they are solitary creatures and would breed well as feral animals if they escaped whereas Guinea Pigs are social animals - mind you that didn’t help with rabbits did it? I found this:
That’s odd, when I had a detached retina they drained the eye to repair it and it eventually refilled completely by itself. Toward the end there was a small bubble which I could manoeuvre into the macular but after a few more days it completely disappeared too.
Having said that who knows with medical things?
I think you are very wise, give it a bit extra time to heal. A couple of days might mean all the difference to more enforced rest.
