Good morning Wednesday 8th July 2026

Good morning one and all…

A bright, cloudless day here in the South Coast. Temperatures appear to be creeping up in what appears to be another heat wave. Last night was a hot sleepless affair, with the lack of any breeze or anything. Today is slightly cooler, but it’s still unpleasantly hot.

So today, not much exciting going on. I have a trip to the supermarket to pick up my Amazon parcel they finally got round to delivering. Whilst there, poached eggs on toast washed down by a coffee or two seems to be the order of the day, as well as picking up a packet of antihistamine tablets to stem the itching. Yesterday I was dealing with my bank with regard to the bunch of idiots who were supposed to be printing a photo album which they messed up and now they will have my bank to deal with to extract a refund. Meanwhile, I ordered a second one which is supposed to arrive today. We’ll see how that works out.

Decided to leave my wild and uncontrolled tree until next week. Its just too hot and I have other stuff to be dealing with before getting worked up with a saw and snips to hack it down to size. My car needs a good bath and a clean out, but I will let my coffee decide if I should make the effort or not. Beyond all that, not much to add.

Have a great day all…

Morning all – yes another sunny day

Hmm that breakfast sounds good Graham, although don’t think I could manage it at the moment! Hope you manage to get everything sorted

The bug I picked up seems to be easing – I may even venture out to the local shop later!

There is some paperwork which needs sorting and filing but I can’t summon up the enthusiasm to deal with it at the moment.

I have decided to try something else for my insomnia! Someone recommended CBT so I have booked an appointment for next Tuesday. The insomnia has got worse over the last year and as a result I am constantly tired and getting more depressive periods – wish me luck!

Take care – have a great day

It’s hot and getting hotter. Today we have the hairdresser - she comes to our house for us and a couple of others.

Morning (sorry afternoon again!)

The temperature here in the midlands is already 29 degrees - anything over 25 is not great for me, but the fan will help. It certainly helps me get a good nights sleep.

Apparently, this spell of hot weather is expected to last for a while. Don’t misunderstand me, i love the sunshine, but the humidity is really uncomfortable.

Tennis soon - we still have some British interest left in Arthur Fery so fingers crossed - he’s done so well so far.

Take care all and have a nice day.

Hi

Struggling with the heat today, so stuck in my room with the curtains drawn and the fan on.

Today is training day, so the usual staff have been replaced with Temps, English Youth in a Uniform, morning mate, here is your breakfast, spoke in a boring monotone.

Excuse me, this is not my breakfast it is someone else’s, I am on a restricted diet.

No reply at all.

Afternoon.
Thank goodness I’m at home so I can whip my jeans off without scaring anyone other than Mr M and he’s used to it.
Otherwise I’m watching tennis eating a bowl of ice cream

Today I visited the Paris of the north.

I have never been before, had a lovely day there, beautiful ice cream, pretty average fish and chips and an undrinkable coffee.

Was going to have a beer there but it was very crowded so we called into a pub on the way home. Came home to find that my sister in law had washed all my clothes.

Good day out.

Did you buy a Kiss Me Quick hat ?
I haven’t been there for years. But if you want a typical British seaside resort and imagine it like that 100 years ago Blackpool is the one to go to.
I’m 75 miles away and it was usual for all the workers from the local factories to have daytrips there. They went by the coach load on work’s outings before the cheap flights abroad and tapas of Spain caught on in the 70’s,

Like Morticia i haven’t been to Blackpool for years - in fact only once at the age of ten.

From the south we would tend to spend a lot of time in Southend during the school holidays - fish and chips along the promenade, and endless walks along the longest pier in the world.

I remember our week in Blackpool, it was very exciting, and the illuminations were amazing.

I still prefer all of this to going abroad (weather permitting).
