It is going to be the start of a series of scorchers today, temps in the mid/high 30°s but hotter each day until Saturday evening when a southerly is due. Supposed to be the worst heatwave since the 2019 bushfires.
I went out early for my walk then watered all my potted plants as soon as I got back. Looks like a day to stay indoors. I am stocked up with Zooper Doopers (luv 'em in summer).
Oh, funny thing - when I woke up this morning my whole doona had turned through 90°. Very odd!
No mean feat for a technophobe like myself, all quite painless and no a single expletive muttered
Adjusted the settings for maximum resolution and hey ho!
Good morning - The dusting of snow has gone, the sky is clear and a dry day is expected. The online grocery shopping will be arriving soon. Some usual run of the mill daytime activities to do but nothing much worth a mention.
If a lightening bolt strikes or a herd of wildebeests is spotted roaming around in the road, I’ll edit this post to let you know. Hoping everyone has a good day.
Morning everyone, just popping in before I take Mrs Fox for a dental appointment to the other side of town. Problem is…over a thousand drivers will be coming in to work in Doncaster over the North Bridge…and another thousand will be heading over the bridge in the opposite direction, and out of town to go to work on the industrial estate up the road…
Then there’s me…
Glad I’m not a courier anymore…
How come, the hardest thing on your body (the teeth) give you so many problems?
Nice work Chilli, I’ve been using a canon scanner for years and it’s brilliant…
Well, we didn’t have more snow yesterday, instead it was mostly dry with a brief period of drizzle about mid day
There was still snow on the ground in the early evening but now it has all melted
General pottering around and waking up this morning, then I’ll go into town this afternoon for a bank mini statement and minor shopping
I’ll probably stock up on nuts in Holland & Barrett’s sale
We’re out shopping today and to see about a repair for one of the wife’s Christmas crystal ornaments, which fell apart and the drama we had over it. I guess things are not made as well as they used to be. We still have our decs up, but switched off until we get chance to put them all away - a two day event if there ever was one and that may be this weekend.
The other thing occurred to me was the amount of food we bought for Christmas, which will probably last for weeks, when all we needed was enough for a couple of days. I suppose I can’t complain too much, its the only time I get to have chocolate shortbread with my coffee.
I had a lovely night at the Concert Hall The National Youth Orchestra playing Debussy and Ravel, and there was a guest Cello soloist .
I treated myself to a packet of Chocolate buttons , a birthday treat ,Why is Chocolate so moorish , I ate the whole packet in one go .
I had an email from BHF a challenge to walk 20…50…or 100 miles in February, I thought very hard about it and decided to walk as and when I felt like it, weather permitting .
So every time I walk from my house to the village shops or Bus stop and back Ive completed 2 miles .
So far this week Ive done 4 miles , I hope to do more as the week goes on .
Good morning all. Sleety showers and 4 degrees here today. The snow levels are beginning to drop. The hard packed snow on the untreated side streets is turning to slush making driving difficult.
Have a good day all.
P S Just had a narrow escape. I went out with some seed for the birds when I heard a thud at my back. A large lump of snow had come off our roof.
I have a CanonXPiXMA all in one… it copies, prints, scans. I have it connected to my desktop computer and my cell phone, and tablet to use, too. A home version, but very easy to set up, use, and manage.
Was a big Canon fan especially where their cameras were concerned
I did have a gripe with Canon years ago, I had a flat bed scanner which was rendered useless by Canon when they didn’t upgrade the driver from Windows 7 to Windows 10 - that maybe not quite right but it was the lack of a driver that consigned a perfectly good scanner to landfill. My current Canon flatbed scanner was bought to replace it.
Come to think of it, it has features never used now ie 35mm negative and slide scanner attachments. Gawd knows how old it is but it still works well.
I also have a much newer document scanner and have found that you can actually scan a handful of photos quite successfully with it
If I have a problem with Canon it is their built in obsolescence as above but for example their inkjet printers used to be useless once the waste ink container was full. (don’t know if that is still the case)
I acquired the Canon 8800 scanner some time ago. It does quite a good job for documents and photos but there is an incompatibility with Windows 11. Fortunately, I have a Win10 laptop which I use and transfer the files across. I believe there are possible workarounds with the software, but not really tried them as I seldom use the scanner and I can’t really be too bothered with trying to fix it. For now, I’ll live with what I have and can’t justify buying a new up to date scanner for what little use I have for it.
