Great excitement, the ironing board cover arrived, itās heat reflecting too, wasnāt expecting that!!! I shall pop over the road a bit later for a bottle of MoĆ«t by way of celebration
Morning all from a bright and sunny southern Hampshire.
Today, Iām as rigid as a plank. Yesterday it was hedge trimming time and after several hours of swinging my trimmer around, it left me today where I can hardly move. Still have to go to the local recycle centre with the cuttings, maybe some shopping after. Also yesterday, Mrs G is giving me yet stronger hints about booking a cruise for next year back to Iceland. I can see we are going to have a serious chat later about it. To top everything off, I still havenāt ordered my new lens for my camera.
Right now, Iāve just come back from my walk and awaiting my mandatory coffeeā¦
Good morning everyone, bright and sunny today, still too chilly for August, but it will get hotter, meteorologists are telling us.
Iāve been fiddling about with one of the video cameras that havenāt been used for many years.
This Samsung functions with an SD card, I think it needs a new battery, no sign of life at all.
Iām wondering though if it is only emphasised text the battery? How can I be sure that the camera itself is still working and also the AC adapter? I canāt find a spare one that fits and Iāve lost the instructions, too.
When I plug it into the power supply, there is a red light on and nothing else happens, the battery doesnāt charge, even after more than an hour. Nothing on the screen!
I canāt even get my laptop to read the SD card that I found in the video camera.
Any suggestions from tech wizards will be very welcome!
Enjoy your new ironing board Chilli and good luck with your new washing machine!
Definitely a good excuse to celebrate, domestic issues play a very important part of our lives!
Salute!
Well, it has finally happened! I have completely lost it! I tried to plug my lap top in to recharge and couldnāt get the cord to fit ā then realised I was trying to use the charging cable for my mobile phone! Send for the men in the white coats and book me into the nearest home for the bewildered!
Gardener had to cancel Monday due to the rain so he will be coming next Monday ā hope the weather is OK then because my lawn is definitely looking a bit scruffy! As he had cancelled I was able to accept an invitation for coffee with my neighbours
Went to lunch with one of my sisters in law yesterday. We went to the local golf club but they have changed their menu and nothing appealed to either of us so we visited a nearby pub instead and had a very enjoyable lunch and conversation
I have been having a few isssues recenly regarding my panasonic G9ii camera . What happened was the SD memory card fell apart in the camera card slot.
so took the camera to my local camera fepair pace and gthey managed to extract the broken card but the contacts in the camera are damaged. they donāt repair Panasonic equipment. So now Insurance dealing and waiting to see what the next step is
If the adaptor is showing a light, you can assume that its working, although testing it with something compatible or a test meter would confirm it. But it could also be the adaptorās cable, or a plug/socket issue.
Batteries are mortal and usually the source of a lot of problems, especially as they age. If the battery is appears to be refusing a charge, then thereās a strong chance its on its way out and time to replace it.
If your laptop doesnāt see anything on the card, then either the card is corrupted or has died.
Bruce at the moment it is now in the hands in my insurance company
Trying to contact authorised Panasonic repairers by phone is nearly impossible I tried for the better half of yesterday afternoon and no one answered⦠The nearest authorised repairer is a 2 hour drive away.
The nearest not over happy with the response to my questions. Asked if he was working from a house and he said his boss had made a room in his house as a workroom. They recently moved from a unit.
That sets alarm bells for me. Could not even park outside his house but in a nearby carpark and to ring from there and he would come and collect from the car park.
Look where Iāve been today with Mrs Fox, there is a very nice pub nestled under the Humber Bridge. I found this place a couple of years ago while walking part of the āWolds Wayā and thought Mrs Fox might like some lunch there. Itās certainly not the last time weāll visit, and they do a carvery for Sunday lunchā¦I parked some distance away and we had a pleasant walk in the sunshine along the foreshoreā¦
Does the camera turn on with the power supply plugged in @Rose2 ?
i would have said that the red light indicates that the power supply is working. You can get batteries for most appliances but no point is spending the money if the camera is no good.
It might be worth removing the battery and putting it back in again a couple of times just to ācleanā the contacts, same with the SD card. Assuming that the battery is removable.
The actual model name will probably be on the camera somewhere (usually with the serial number) so you could search on line for a PDF file of the manual
No, unfortunately the camera doesnāt turn on with the power supply, just a red light on underneath āCHGā on the camera. Iāve taken out battery, put it back in again, many times and also cleaned all the contact parts. The same with the SD card.
Infact I have my doubts, that it could be the actual camera, gone!
I tried looking for the manual online, I didnāt manage to download, Iāll try again.
Sometimes when the battery is flat for long periods the camera will forget what to do when itās switched onā¦A bit like booting up a computer.
There may be another little battery inside that does that job, and will also be flat. If you can dismantle it carefully and gain access to the printed circuit board, all will be revealed.
If you are going to throw it away anyway, it might be worth a try to take the back off Rose.
