Good Morning Wednesday, 28th May 2025

Good morning all you forum people, the wind has died, the sun is out and the rain has gone but it is still very cool a maximum of 20° today.

Have been out spraying Chinese Roundup on the weeds in the sunshine, the dust has gone and the escarpment is back.

When I was walking out to get some rolls from the Vietnamese bakery I noticed that the flowers are starting at the base of those enormous shoots the Agave sprouted while I was away.

As they have never flowered before this is all new to me.

Anyway the sun is out, I finished unpacking the car, filled it up with fuel, all is well with the world.

Have a wacky Wednesday.

Take care…

Late edition:

I was working out the statistics for my mini break

I used 972 litres of diesel at an average price of about $1.90 per litre (95p?) and drove 8671 km which works out at about 11.2 litres per 100km which I didn’t think was too bad. The accommodation, ie Caravan Parks, cost me about $640 which I thought was outrageous but they can get away with it at the moment.

Good morning!
Dull & cool, but dry

I have just about recovered from my bug, though I still feel a bit weak, but I thought I should remind you all that I’m still here - don’t all groan at once!

I volunteer to help with the Breakfast Club at a local Community Centre
A local bakery donates free bread; it is delivered to a central Food Bank which serves the whole town then individual Community Centres, Breakfast Clubs etc collect what they need from there

The person who collects bread for my Breakfast Club will be on holiday next week and I have offered to do the collection, but the problem is that I haven’t done this before, and although I know the general area I don’t know all the small back streets & loading bays

So today I’m having a dry run by walking the route and introducing myself to the Food Bank staff as no doubt everything will be busy about 08-00 on the day
So we’ll see how that goes

After that, just general pottering about at home

It’s that ‘Nephrostomy dressing change’ time of week again. Seems to come around so very quickly …But still, the Sun is shining and I’ll probably take advantage of that one way or another. Perhaps a walk, some work on the outside of the house or even the garden. I’m just so fickle!

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all – rain and strong winds last night but some sun this morning

I have to travel to the next county to take my lap top for some urgent TLC so I will be absent for a couple of days (now now stop crying!). There are computer repair shops closer but this is someone I know and trust

Take care hope everyone has a lovely day

Morning all

A grey and cloudy start down by the seaside, here in Hampshire. “Mrs G” is in a bit of a flap this morning with her SIM card in her phone deciding to pack up and spent an hour arguing with BT. Problem is she also looks after my Father-in-law and uses it to deal with doctors and hospitals etc. Really not a happy bunny.

Meanwhile, I’m not sure what else is going on today, so I’ll leave it for my cup of coffee to decide.

Have a great day all

Good Morning everyone, apart from an early solo visit to Tesco and M&S for tonight’s dinner it’s a rest day. Just off to track down a fencing company that just happens to be next to a garden centre…

just back from the dentist as I had what is called a “dry socket” where the tooth was removed from the gum. Hopefully this time it will heal up properly

I hope so realspeed. Troubles with teeth and gums can be a misery to put up with.

Well that was a surprise. Drove to the next county to visit my friendly computer nerd - explained the various problems. He nodded said he knew what was causing it, spent 20 minutes tapping the keyboard and said some incomprehensible things - could have been a magic spell incantation for all I know - handed the lap top back all fixed!! Cost? nothing just happy to help!
