Good Morning Wednesday, 26th March 2025

Good morning to you all on this hump day. The weather forecast is the same, cloudy but dry though rain is forecast for the weekend though it predicts 9 to 70mm on Saturday which basically means they don’t know.

Out early for my walk, after the success of my favourite roundabout I have decided to a show a few of my favourite things (that should be made into a song :icon_wink:). Today, for your visual pleasure, my favourite letterbox:

After cooling down from my walk and showering I decided to get stuck into the laundry including getting the bedding washed. When I was in the garden preparing to hang the clothes I discovered a host of fungi had appeared on my lawn. If I was an expert in these matters I might cook them but I am not and they could be Death Cap mushrooms for all I know.

I am about to get the whipper snipper out to start on the edges of the lawn then I might even tackle some mowing. It’s all go here.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Take care…

Good morning all!
A bit of cloud hanging around here in Sussex this morning. No work today and no need to venture into town so it’s a day for attending to domestic duties and generally pottering around at home.

I love The Ned Kelly letterbox Bruce, absolutely brilliant :+1: Oh, those are definitely not death cap but I seriously wouldn’t want to risk them in a fry up!

Have a good day forum people!

Good morning everyone, another gloomy, dusty day today, even though reasonably mild. I’ve just had enough of looking out of the window each morning and seeing more desert dust covering all the cars!
This is what I miss most about being away from my country home, I have a car shed there and our cars would have been protected.
I’m waiting for all this to finish, before getting the car washed, what’s the point otherwise? It’s just lasting so long, at least two weeks now, it’s never gone on this long before! :slightly_frowning_face:

Exactly @Bruce , leave those mushrooms alone if you don’t know what they are! :eyes:
Great letter box, very cool!

Wishing you all a good Wednesday.

Good morning all

@Bruce , your mushrooms reminded me of that case last year or year before of a woman who fed poisonous mushrooms to her inlaws and 2 died ,
Did she get charged with the deaths or was it deemed accidental ?

My plants arrived late last evening so today I will be busy potting up .Temps are going to be 16c daytime but will fall to 4c, this means I shall have to keep them in my house till night time temps rise .

Have a good day all

She was charged with murder for serving up Death Cap mushrooms and is in custody but I don’t think the case has been heard yet, April sticks in my memory so it should be in court soon.

Good morning!
Dull but dry, and not too cold

A few pottering jobs to do today -

A bit of cleaning & tidying
Finish sorting & putting away the paints & other model making stuff my friend gave me on Monday

To remind you, we’re trying to start a Men’s Shed in Burnley, Lancashire
Following on from yesterday’s meeting I have a few people & other organisations to contact with questions and to see if they would be interested in helping

And I might even get round to cleaning the kitchen floor

Morning all – the sun is trying to break through so hopefully we will have a nice day :sunny:

Love that letterbox Bruce!

Beast once again refused to go out after her breakfast, allowed me to pet her for a little while but then walked away and sat with her back to me! Felt firmly put in my place

The neighbours telephoned yesterday afternoon – they were having a day ashore and told me they were sitting in the sun drinking wine! :wine_glass: They sounded as if they are having a great time!

There is the monthly meeting for “older” people at church today – not sure if I will go as I am feeling very run down and tired

Take care – have a lovely day

A Misty, overcast start to the day here, not the sunshine we were promised.

House is a tip after the failed attempts with sorting out the fish tank filter.

The teenagers are not the best at cleaning up.

A gentle day today, I will not be pushing myself.

Have a good day all.

Morning Everyone… :bus:
So there I was, stood at the bus stop yesterday when a double decker turned up, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I always rush up stairs and find a seat at the front and pretend I’m driving the bus… :026:
I even gave up the opportunity of chatting up an old school friend I met at the stop. She still looks quite fit…However, not fit enough to attempt the spiral staircase on a moving bus… :009: More’s the pity…
The Vodafone shop was very helpful, and I came away with a Samsung A36 for 400 quid, 100 hundred quid cheaper than the Samsung A56 and exactly the same spec…
Well I actually didn’t come away with it, they only keep display models in the shop so I have to wait for it coming in.
I hate wasting a day waiting for a delivery too @Ripple so I’ve ordered the phone to be delivered to the shop where I will collect it. It did cost an extra six quid to deliver to my home… No chance  I also never shop online if I can help it, so once I recovered from shelling out 400 quid I had a walk round to M&S to see if they had some trousers for my rapidly expanding waistline…Too many biscuits and not enough exercise with being laid on my back with the gout for the last month…I didn’t see any that I liked so I visited the cafe’ instead and had tea and biscuits…
Only joking, it was a healthy ploughmans sandwich…
Right! Suns out and it’s time to get my chair out, pull up me shorts, and do a few chapters of my latest book…
Where’s Mrs Fox you ask?..She’s buggered off for the day with her best friend…So while the cats away…
:mini:
Love the photo @Bruce we need more pictures on this thread…And now, with my new phone the world is my oyster…
:frog:
Or something like that…

Hi

Great to see you back posting after all your Traumas.

You are an inspiration.

I had to laugh out loud at your day out with your Son.

He obviously loves you to bits, a day out in a Tank Museum would be his dream, a treat for him is a treat for his Mum.

Hilarious.

That boy of mine knows how to spoil his mum .
I’ve also been treated to castles and fortifications on the Welsh /Shropshire border.
My anxiety increases as Mother’s Day approaches…hmmm I’d be happy with flowers .

Sorry to hear about the marine tank . Thank goodness there weren’t fish involved

Afternoon good people! I like the pleasant Pheasant macy!
Today was a kinda busy one way or another. The usual strolls, the grocery delivery, our next door borrowed some of our tools, then The Meat Man, the mail man, then another neighbour popped in with his two dogs - they had great fun with ours. Then another delivery, mine this time. Then a few calls from my sister from hospital and from my niece in Canada. Believe it or not we also did some gardening…

Perfect weather for gardening Besoeker. I did the Tesco run single handed (never a good idea before breakfast) and then sat out in the sun with Detective Chief Inspector Grace solving his latest crime…It’s really time that I got started on the garden but I can’t seem to find the time and energy just lately.
