Good Morning Wednesday, 21st May 2025

Good morning one and all, finally there are some clouds in the sky.

Drove through Augathella today, I call in each time I pass (it’s a couple of K off the highway), I usually get a coffee and take virtually the same photos every time.

The town is the home of Smiley and the author that wrote about him (I hope some of you remember the film).

It is also the home off the Mighty Meat Ants, presumably the local footie team but I have no idea which code. They even have a statue up a pole in the park.

Also passed the site of the largest peace time explosion in Australia when a truck of fertiliser caught fire and exploded wiping out the road bridge and the adjacent railway bridge - the latter was never replaced and the line was abandoned (on the right).

This is my last night in foreign parts, tomorrow morning I should be back in NSW and back home for the weekend. (that’s the plan at the moment).

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Take care…

Grey and drizzly this morning. I’ll be going to a friend’s house this morning to see if I can get his new printer working. Telephone calls between us haven’t worked. I was going to ride my bike there but it’s raining a bit, so I’ll be driving.

Some paperwork to take care of this afternoon. This entails someone visiting our house, so I have to be back home by 1.00 p.m.

Have a good day.

Morning all – rain overnight with more rain and possible thunderstorms forecast for later. Of course it is because the gardener was due to come today! I have cancelled not because I was worried about his getting wet but I didn’t fancy facing his wife if he caught a cold while working in the rain!

The meet up with my friend went really well yesterday. We sat in the café for 3 hours (yes we did buy several coffees and some lunch!). We caught up on each others news and put the world to rights (the powers that be should really put the two us in charge!) I was even lucky with the bus arriving on time!

No real plans for today, need to refill the bird feeders but at least I don’t have to water the planters!

Take care – have a lovely day
