Good morning everyone, it is warm but windy in the mid 20s.
I was in two minds about spraying my cheap Chinese Roundup about but decided to anyway, some of the grass is going mad in the warmer weather. Yesterday I did run the mower over the lawn but ran out of fuel before doing the drive and the front, will save that for another day.
Re-potted one of my Money Trees, it was looking a bit sad and I had a bigger pot spare. I hope it survives and thrives.
Am thinking of going for a drive this arvo partly to give the car a bit of a run and partly just to get out of the house, I am having a no food day and the fridge is always a temptation.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy the first day of yet another month. Next Monday is a public holiday I have just remembered.
Not a lot to say about today. A bit of shopping, dropping some stuff off to charity shops, recycling and clothing banks. May wander off to shop for some Christmas decorations. Probably stop for a coffee somewhere…
Well, I bought my vacuum cleaner yesterday but needed to do a couple of other errands, so this morning I’ll be opening the box and finding out how it works
Then the Men’s Shed this afternoon
Good morning - The order of the day is: A shower. Needs a waterproof plaster putting on to cover the Nephrostomy dressing.
Take off the waterproof plaster and change the Nephrostomy dressing.
Get to the Health Centre for a CT scan.
After that not much happening but I want to apply brick waterproofing to part of the house. I really need to get up an fix the dripping gutter downpipe that is letting out a drip that splashes against the wall but the waterproofing will do for now.
Today I am officially retired. The company I worked for had to lay off four drivers and they asked me if I wanted to be counted as one of the people that got laid off. I had no problem with that because because I can collect unemployment and Social Security.
I filed for Social Security yesterday and today I have to go and apply for unemployment.
Let’s see how it goes from here.
Swimmy, if you feel only good and warm vibes about your person, it is me sending every ounce of caring and courage to you today. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Good morning from the cumuli-nimbus world of Florida!
@swimfeeders, hang in there! Push for whichever facility will provide you with the best cardiac care.
@Robin, congratulations on the retirement. I wish the circumstance behind it were more in your control. Are you going to look for another position to supplement your SS or are you content to be happily retired?
I’m knee deep trying to get the utilities lined up for the crashpad move next week to the space force base near Satellite, Florida - trying to round up appliances, and sort through furniture and household good currently in storage to make the place livable. Though the men in the family will be living there quite a bit, my daughter and I will only get to enjoy it on holidays, school breaks, and long weekends. Should be fun though with the Atlantic Ocean out the back door.
Didn’t I swear off climbing ladders, moving furniture, and mowing lawns ? Apparently not… .
Yesterday I unpacked my new vacuum cleaner and put it on charge so today is the start of The Great Autumn Clean & Tidy Up
I live in a first (American second) floor flat, which includes its own stairs, and I’m going to do one section or area at a time
I don’t yet know how long the battery will last but in any case just one area a day will do me; I live on my own and I’m quite happy enough to do one area a day for the next few days
I’m starting with the bedroom
Later I’ll catch up with a bit of domestic administration -
Finish a couple of cookery books from the library
Sort some coupons from Sainsbury
Send a couple of emails to friends
Write a birthday card for my Grandson
