Good Morning Wednesday, 19th November 2025

Good morning all, Another warm spring day with temps in the low 30s.

Was driving this morning on a a newly graded road when I came across a road train.

As it got closer it became apparent that he was picking up a lot of dust from the side of the road.

…and you think you have trouble with fog :icon_wink:

BTW this road had recently been upgraded from a single lane to two lanes, you can tell.

Why they don’t just lay another lane on one side I don’t know, why would you make work for yourself by putting half a lane each side?

Have a good one

Take care…

Morning all…

Cold and wet outside means my drive still needs cleaning and my lawn is getting longer, but the weather is not letting up. Not really sure what’s going on today, I have a small plumbing job if and when the parts show up today, which I need to do before we go away in a few weeks time. Some printing of stuff. Not much else too exciting, I’m afraid.

Have a great day…

Good morning - It’s snowing heavily at the moment but not settling. I hope it doesn’t upset the day’s activities.

Have the best possible day everyone

Good morning!
Dull but dry

I’m going to the Men’s Shed today, they have an afternoon and an evening session
I hope to finish the fireside bellows today. The last part is fitting the leather ‘surround’ for want of a better word, and that is more difficult & fiddly than I expected, so someone at the Shed should help me, but I’ll make a paper pattern before I actually cut the leather
I’m taking sandwiches & a flask of coffee to have while the Shed is closed late afternoon
I’m hoping to have it finished today

Midday and some funny white stuff for a shot time came down from the sky. A quick research and discovered it is some thing called snow, not seen that here for many years so no wonder it is so cold.

Good socked in morning from Florida!

I love running in these surreal conditions; it’s feels almost other-worldly. Oxidized dust? Not so much.

Yesterday I was stuck mostly starting at a computer screen, so today I am cutting the shackles and starting to prepare for a ten-day trip back out to the east coast of Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday. I am not sure if you gentlemen are so inclined, but I have to leave the house spotless before any trip - not just to avoid the letdown of work upon returning but because if I die along the way, I don’t want people judging me during the wake . My family thinks this is obtuse; but I see it as self-preserving… or at least soulfully self-preserving !

Have a nice day!

Good afternoon forum friends, cold and drizzly today, I’m sitting by the fireplace at the moment.
You already have snow @mart? :astonished:
Oh, I hope our temperatures don’t drop too much, it’s getting colder every day, I dread the snow, but it would be really unusual this time of year.

I know exactly what you mean @Surfermom, I remember how I used to scrub down the whole house before leaving for our two weeks Summer family holidays. I didn’t actually have the same thoughts as you but maybe subconsciously, that was actually the real reason why I was so obsessed with leaving everything spotless!

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

Good Afternoon all you house prouders…and expedition types… :039:
A bit late today, but did the usual Wednesday Tesco thing and then wrote to Bruce about some electrical things…I think he’s getting more tolerant of my ramblings these days…
Thought I would try a walk after breakfast and managed to chassis around a three mile route down by the canal…3 degrees C first thing but it had warmed up to 4 C by lunchtime…but too cold for shorts, especially since my recent cold. No snow here, just a biting north wind coming from Iceland with nothing to stop it except Scotland, where it deposited all of it’s snow bound for South Yorkshire…Sorry Rox…

The walk went very well and I will probably resume my normal routine on Friday.
It’s just getting dark now and not a cloud in the sky, probably down to freezing overnight…

I’m enjoying your reports Bruce and in weather like we are getting here, I wish I was with you.
If it continues this cold Mart, it will bring down the average temperature of the year, despite the BBC trying to tell us that the world is warming up and showing us pictures of dried up reservoirs…Fair play to Mr Hudson (our local BBC weatherman) he did mention last night, that the reservoirs were 80% full and almost back to normal for the time of year.

Sounds like the snow has bypassed South Yorkshire realspeed and dumped it on you…

Mrs Fox is just the same Surfer, always leaves the house ‘spic and span’ I always tell her that the burglars will never complain about the state of the place if they should break in while we are away. If she’s so concerned, she should leave a note telling them to leave it tidy when they leave…
