Good Morning Wednesday 01/12

I had one of those horrible dreams when you are in the past and you wake up and 30 years have gone and you have entered the final furlong .

Morning all, goodness all these people with bad sleep experiences last night! I empathise, cos I never ever sleep well - can’t remember the last time I slept solidly through the night without waking. Oh that would be heaven!

Raining here today, a typical, miserable December morning. December! Heavens where has the year gone?

A Christmas lunch is arranged today with several of my old workmates - we’ve all kept in touch throughout retirement and pre-covid used to meet up regularly. I have been so looking forward to seeing them all after nearly two years, but I have got the mother and father of all colds, and feel quite rough. I don’t really feel up to it right now, but hoping I’ll feel better as the day goes on. Oh hell and damnation!!!

Hope you all have a good day, and those who need it manage to catch up on lost sleep!

Was watching Good Morning TV this morning, telling us not to say to people Have a Happy Christmas, we have got to say Happy Holidays, so not to upset the people who don’t celebrate Christmas.

I detest these “woke” warriors who believe, for no good reason whatsoever, that people of different Faith’s would be upset by a Christian festival. We aren’t upset by Ramadan or Eid, so why should they be upset over happy Christmas? The mind boggles, and these prats on the TV spouting such complete nonsense should never be allowed near a microphone ever again… :rage:

Rant over…

Good morning all, a cool wind here but dry and mild at the moment so no complaints.

Just back from walking the dogs and having a brew before deciding on what to do next. Apart from a trip to the hospital for a routine procedure there’s nothing else on my schedule, and knowing how long you can be there I’d better keep it that way methinks…

Have a pleasant day folks

Good morning from ‘out in the rural sticks’ to you all. :039:

‘Pinch and a Punch’, ‘White Rabbits’ and all that as it’s the 1st of the month!

Not too late, once again I managed to make it on here well before midday!

Not as cold this morning, no frost. Chance of showers later this morning. Maximum temperature 8ºC.

Various tasks to do today, basically trying to finish what I really should have completed yesterday.
Rightly or wrongly I am slowly coming to the realisation that nothing is that important that it cannot
wait until tomorrow.

Enjoy your day everybody, whatever you may be doing.

If I know of anyone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, then I obviously don’t wish them a Happy Christmas. Why would I? I don’t wish Happy Birthday to someone when it’s not their birthday! I am wishing Happy Christmas to people who do celebrate Christmas, so what’s the problem? This kind of nonsense really gets right up my nose :rage:

I have some friends who are JW they still wish me Happy Christmas .
When I lived in Islamic countries they did the same and I always wished them Happy Eid similarly Happy Chinese New Year or Deepavali as appropriate.

Yes I agree, if its someone I know and they don’t celebrate Christmas because of their Religion, then I wouldn’t say Merry Christmas, but in general I would say Merry Christmas to every one.

Good grumpy morning to everyone! :joy:

I have plumbers in right now taking my (newly decorated!) bathroom apart to find the leak that is going into the downstairs flat. The dog is going nuts and I’m disliking having having people in the house trekking backwards and forwards with their paraphernalia.

And its raining.

Hope everyone has a better day

Raining slightly here not to bad at all, this is just to keep you informed. LOL

Nothing planned for today simply work later and a dog walk before. Opticians tomorrow fingers crossed not cancelled.

Good morning all :slightly_smiling_face: a bright start to the day and a lot milder.

Not feeling on top form this morning, my back is playing up and I am hobbling around on two sticks. Oh the joys of winter weather! :grinning:

Enjoy your day folks and stay safe…… :slightly_smiling_face:

Morning all.

At my sis so using her wifi. She is making me a cuppa (been to PaH for some dog biscuits), and she is on leave this week.

BT engineer coming tomorrow afternoon some time. I tried changing cables this morning, but still no phone, so no internet.

Like Barry, I detest the woke brigade and all those they claim to protect.

Laters.

Good morning everyone  a bit late …
Another one who didn’t sleep last night , I kept listening for Chloe to wander around but she didn’t last night.

I popped out to fill the car and went to the organic shop to stock up with goodies then came home and put everything away.

My 11 year old grandaughter has tested positive for C19, such a shame she will miss being in the play she has rehearsed at school, the party and Christmas lunch.

@Mags sorry to hear your back is causing problems again, it must make doing things difficult.

Sorry to hear you’re in pain again @Mags , I do hope it eases for you before too long, nothing worse than chronic pain to wear you down… :persevere:

Sorry to read your granddaughter has tested positive for C19, I do hope she will be alright. Such a shame she will miss all the Christmas events at school.

Thank you Barry :slightly_smiling_face: I will keep taking the tablets and no ‘running’ to the shops. …… oops, I’m fortunate I have my groceries delivered! :grinning:

Afternoon all.

BT engineer called this afternoon, a day early. Seems the FB post yesterday about a damaged cable was correct. It has been repaired and he said about 50 of us were still out, so they were going round seeing to those who were still off line. He was only here about 10m.

Meg and Mags, sorry to hear all your bad news. Sending hugs.

I didn’t realise just how much of a weight was sitting on my shoulders waiting for our double glazing to arrive and be installed until an hour ago when the fitters left after installing the first 3 windows. They will be back tomorrow to continue with the installation. I feel so relieved and more relaxed about things as we’ve only been waiting since May for them to arrive.
