Good Morning Tuesday, 26th May 2026

Well, it is a very wet good morning from me. When I woke it was raining so I stayed in bed until 7am before getting up for a shower. There had been 11mm of rain overnight but more importantly it is also falling over the drought declared areas of the state.

No walk for me this morning, during a brief break in the rain I went to my PO Box to pick up a package I had ordered followed by a quick visit to the supermarket but that was my sole outing so far today.

The packet was a hard case for my drone, I had to modify it to take the cover/light shield I fitted but it seems an OK case. Room for heaps of batteries but I only have four and not sure that I will need more. I will give the previous bag to my grandson for his camera now that he has taken an interest in photography.

That looks to be my day, probably watch more TV than anything though I still have the job of making bags for my other video light and I thought I would make one for the selfie stick tripod if I can find the right coloured thread.

Have a more interesting day than me. Oh yes, nearly forgot, the heatwave in Europe made the news last night, it said the temperature in the UK was the highest ever recorded (or it might have said for a very long time - I can’t remember)

Good excuse to drink a lot.

Take care…

Good morning all!:sun_with_face:

It felt incredibly hot here yesterday Bruce, there’s no way I would have travelled any distance at all, enduring a cramped train journey didn’t bear thinking about!:open_mouth::hot_face:
Others felt differently

When I lived in Brighton it was commonplace to see metal detectorists amid all the carnage outside the beach side bars the following dawn. Not only drink was spilled into the shingle but a considerable amount of coinage too!

Today the temperature here is forecast to peak at thirty two degrees. Deffo not venturing out very far today!!! Just ordered another roll of 35mm monochrome film for the weekend :+1::camera:

Carry on keeping cool forum people, things look better temperature wise from tomorrow! :ice_cube::v::sunglasses:

There certainly isn’t!
Given the filthy condition of some of our coastal waters I’m hardly surprised. I shan’t use the appropriate emoji, it’s too close to breakfast time!

Morning all – another lovely sunny day – I could get used to this!

OK – I admit it – time for me to look for a home for the bewildered! Got up early to be sure to be on time for my appointment with the nurse practitioner. As the appointment is not in my local surgery checked the message to find the address only to find the appointment is next Tuesday!!

Fun and games here yesterday afternoon – a neighbour started shouting to some kids telling them to shut up! They were playing in their garden – yes they were making noise but that is what kids do, the irony was that the neighbour complaining and been cutting his grass and hedges all morning and making an even greater noise!

The re-sanding of the drive and patio went ahead yesterday. When he arrived I asked if he had put on plenty of sunscreen – he said he had forgotten to bring it! I gave him my 50+ sunscreen and told him to put on as much as he needed!

I stayed out of the sun myself – I am too fair skinned to risk strong sunlight and 30+ degree heat

Read an article yesterday which said young people can be “offended” by full stops in messages! Apparently having grown up using short messages they can find the full stop to be “passive aggressive” So apologies to any who find my punctuation offensive!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Just had an afternoon siesta. Has anyone realised that when asleep and dreaming ,what ever the dream is, you never feel pain.

Hi

Life is never boring here.

Shawna was here earlier, then a gap until Kinga came at 13.30.

Then things kicked off next door to me and next door to them.

Kinga was supposed to leave at 15.30, only just managed to go.
She was blocked in on my drive, 5 Police Cars and a Police van, multiple
Police Officers in total, handcuffs, putting one down on the ground and to have his legs tied and then lifted into the Custody Van.

Next door neighbours boyfriend had left in his car with clothes etc in bin bags, then decided to return with others in his car half an hour later.

Kinga was desperate to go to collect her daughter from the Holiday Club on time.

Whilst I am normally supportive of the Police, I have to say that they didn’t impress with the way they handled this.
