Good morning to you all. It was a wet old morning here, I received about 3mm of rain but actualy just not enough!
No walk this morning, I took my car in for a service early so they can do it while I wait, still takes several hours. Even worse their coffee machine ran out of water so I had to get them to fill it up - I really am a public service
On the way home visited the grog shop for a slab of beer to take with me next week, then onto Bunnings for some wood and eye bolts for a tiny project in the car.
That took up just about all my morning, still looking very grey out there, much cooler too, temperature in the mid to low 20s after the long weekend of high 20s.
Still want to go to the shops to stock up on snack food for driving.
Not been posting for the last few days as, unfortunately, the black dog struck with a vengeance. Have spent my time binge watching a favourite TV programme, overdosing on junk food, chocolate and hot cross buns (fortunately excessive alcohol consumption has never been a weakness of mine). Gave myself a good talking to this morning so hopefully normal service will be resumed
Plans for today include replenishing the goodies cupboard and contacting those I have ignored. I am also expecting a new book to be delivered today
Good morning - The day has started with some cloud and sunshine but rain is forecast for later.
I’ve mended a broken light on the power wheelchair. Broken by something bumped into I expect. Mrs mart has a hairdresser appointment this morning. While she is away, I’ll get some more stuff out of the loft so we can decide whether to keep or get rid of it.
Hi @SheilaP I’ve had many a weekends binge watching shows. Totally get that state of mind. I’m hoping to do that again soon. Any favorites? Recently been stuck on 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation. All good I think from time to time!
Morning all. Just got back from my six monthly dental tooth polish and gum scrape. Been for a walk in the woods with my trusty snapbox to get some bluebell shots - not sure what they will come out like, as I forgot one of my lenses.
Had to go for an early appointment at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital for my annual Implanted Coronary Device checkup. Apparently all was good except it picked up a heart event back in March I didn’t know about. Apparently It happened at 4:00 am while I was sleeping.
The ICD downloads and is monitored from my bedroom with an internet connection on my bedside table. Not too serious as long as it doesn’t happen too often.
Battery life is expected to last another 10.5 years at it’s present workload of 50/50
My heart only needs it’s support half the time.
I have a pretty big DVD collection too but I never watch any of them. On her last visit my daughter brought a DVD with her. There was a frantic search for the remote control because normally I only need the TV one which controls the HiFi too…
The search was so fraught that I have since 3D printed a holder for all the lounge remote controls so they sit on the table by my chair.
Each state has its own brand of beer, that happens to be NSW’s. The only beer you can get all over Australia is Carlton Draught for some reason, I tend to stick to that when I am travelling.
