Good Morning Tuesday, 19th May 2026

Good morning all on another rather dull day, only 19°.

My daughter and I took the dog for a walk this morning, I showed her the Flying Foxes, the dog was most interested in them.

The day before yesterday on our walk we saw a herd of about a dozen wild deer, the buck had a magnificent set of antlers.

The recent rain was not much (7mm for the 24 hours to 9am) but at least some of the creeks have a bit of flow in them.

Said goodbye to the dog and daughter at about 9.30am then got out the vacuum cleaner to try to clean up some of the inevitable hair that women and dogs leave behind themselves.

Am getting ready for a massive clothes wash tomorrow as it is the only dry day predicted for the next week. I must admit I am now glad that the smallest top loader I could buy was 7.5kg, at the time I thought it was a massive overkill but it means I can do bigger loads less often so it turned out well.

Enjoy your Tuesday.

Take care…

Good morning all! :cloud_with_rain::wind_face:

Absolutely tipping it down here, the storm before the lull I hope! :open_mouth:
Actually the weather forecast for the weekend is looking pretty glorious…as it stands of course :sun_with_face:

A couple of very likely looking gigs scheduled outside our local on Sunday and Monday!:guitar::+1:
I’ve been agonizing about what cameras to take but a plan is hatching. I need to use up the final six shots on this particular roll of film beforehand, it’s really not suitable for the (hopefully) very bright sunshine.

A day of chores, bills and emails today.

Enjoy your Tuesday forum people! :crossed_fingers::blossom:

Good morning all

My weather is much the same as Chilli, but plenty of warm weather on the way .

I came across something of a life saver today and I think its worth posting with the holidays and warmer weather predicted .Its called Float to Live by the RNLI hope none needs to put it in practice , but its something to pass on to others .Even Swimmers get into trouble.

Have a good day everyone and here is my forecast for the next few days .

Morning all – heavy rain last night and more rain forecast for today – where is Noah when you need him!

Cleaner arrived on time yesterday, this is only the second time she has been here and she managed to break a large glass vase! She said she picked it up to dust and it broke (hmm). I had previously told her not to do any dusting as I can manage that! Really not sure if I will continue to use her as, although she is good at some things she seems a bit slap-dash at others. I will give her another chance (although I will tell her again not to dust anything!)

Had a visit from someone doing a survey looking for opinions on the local Regional Mayor. Told him my opinion was that the Mayor was a waste of time and money, that it took 6 months to answer a simple question about local public transport and that answer referred to the wrong area! Also said the current Mayor only seemed interested in photo opportunities and should instead get on with the job they were being paid for! He said he needed to make a note of my name and address before asking me questions. That’s when I did my “I believe in conspiracies” act! I said how would I know my answers wouldn’t be noted and held against me, he assured me they wouldn’t but I persisted and said he couldn’t guarantee that and I would refuse to answer any questions! I did feel sorry for him and apologised as he left!

Today I have someone coming to sort out the proliferation of weeds growing up through the paving on my drive and patio. Not sure how he will deal with it considering we are expecting rain but he assures me it won’t make a difference – hmm, we’ll see

Take care – have a wonderful day

Good morning all.
Up earlier, as I work the voting polls for our town’s school and library budgets from 11 am to 8 pm. Setting up the machines is actual work, but the rest is seeing folks I haven’t encountered for years, and a quick chat.
The weather is something else…sunny, 90 deg F, 32 deg C…so I’m happy to be inside with air conditioning all day!

I’ll be glad to come home this evening, as a Tribute to Rod Stewart is on the TV for a couple of hours! I can sing, “Hot Legs” while I get cool and comfy.

I had to laugh, as Spike Milligan said, “You swelter in your 20° of summer while we freeze in our 20° of winter” :icon_wink:
