I think you can entirely blame @Chilliboot for this (however the lack of skill is entirely mine) when he remarked about his joss sticks which in turn reminded me of my wax burner thing. I then went to find it and discovered I still at two packets of fragrant wax. Decided it needed a holder because it does get hot blah, blah.
Back indoors I had a @realspeed moment and decided to photograph some of my photographic equipment as well.
Just got up and making a coffee with the kettle boiling away. Sue facing the other way bending over doing her shoes up. she said something i didn’t hear. Now for the all time classic comment she made " so you can’t read my lips then".
I have all the food I need for the next few days, so I’ve been tidying & sorting my book shelves, so the place is a bit of a tip at the moment, but it does give me the opportunity to dust the shelves properly
Most of the books will be re arranged and put back on the shelves, though I’ve found a couple that I no longer want
I have 31 cookery books, of which 20 are on diabetes/weight loss/healthy living; plus a box file of leaflets & cuttings
Do I actually make any of the recipes? – Hardly ever!
I also have 17 or 18 unread books
Yet again I promise to make more of an effort in future
Hopefully I should have everything sorted and back on the shelves by the end of today
Morning all. Looks like a sunny day here in southern Hampshire, but at least its a lot cooler.
Yesterday I was getting strong hints from the wife that she wants to do another cruise. We already have one booked for August next year, but because we have been on a number already, we have accumulated points based on the number of nights we have done cruising already. As it turns out, if we stay for one more night on a ship, we qualify for all sorts of discounts - which is why she wants to do a small trip before our August one. Problem is, they are all expensive and I question if spending £2,000 on a trip somewhere is worth the extras we get in August. ‘Absolutely not’ is my answer, but I’m not sure the wife will won’t have it. The saga continues…
Meanwhile, Mrs G is off with my father in law and deal with his issues. There is a coffee with my name on it and its also our ‘pearl’ wedding anniversary, which we agreed to postpone until tomorrow.
Good Afternoon Everyone, another late visit from the Fox…
That really fine rain that wets you through meant the hat and waterproof jacket was necessary for this mornings walk/jog. Being Tuesday I had to put in some effort and do some fast’ish bits, so It didn’t feel as cold…Just 16 degrees C…This is our summer Bruce…
Right, lets get down to it…The 500 quid all singing, all dancing phone I bought spends most of it’s time sitting in it’s cradle in a corner of the worktop in the kitchen. I’ve got nowhere to carry it when I go out in tee shirt and shorts, and I’m forever pulling up me shorts with it in my back pocket, much to the pleasure (or displeasure) of the local dog walkers. They don’t want to be exposed to the sight of builders bum at that time in the morning…
Then! I went out on my bike yesterday and the phone wouldn’t fit into the extra large saddle bag I specially bought to put my phone in on the bike…
So I don’t take it with me on most occasions, a waste of money! And not very wise considering my dicky ticker…
A solution has presented itself…I dusted off my old clamshell phone, charged up the battery, and put a cheap sim card in…Result…
Who the hell needs to take the interweb with them everywhere they go.
On the rare occasions I need the internet while out, like my ‘Green Flag’ App or my banking App, or if I go trig hunting (rare these days) I can take the monstrosity with me, preferably in the car or rucksack…
A late visit from me too! Good afternoon everyone, I’ve just had a look outside to see if we’re in for yet another storm this afternoon, it actually looks better today, so maybe not. It’s been raining heavily and violently every single afternoon for a week now, mornings are hot, blue sky, lots of sunshine and then suddenly dark clouds arrive, strong winds, downpour and hailstones too, a couple of times!
It’s funny how this all started after we had all those bush fires! In a way, it was a godsend but enough is enough!
My backyard is full of rotten figs on the ground that the wind keeps knocking off my fig tree, I’m so fed up of cleaning up all the time! Such a sad waste too. I managed to pick some and I took them to my parents, we don’t really eat them much. My dad was very happy. At 91, he still has a very sweet tooth!
Happy pearl anniversary @Graham, 19th - I was born fifty eight years ago today! Ooops, I’ve said it!
Thanks Foxy, a quiet, pleasant lunch at home, just my son and I , my daughter’s gone back to Verona, after her two week stay. I bought some cream pastries from a good bakery. Yummy!
Bumps?? Oh no, I better start running!
I was lucky at school, never had to “endure” the bumps, my birthday was in the Summer holidays! I do remember joining in to give others the bumps on their birthdays!
