Good Morning Tuesday, 17th February 2026

Good morning all you forum freaks out there. It is supposed to be a lovely sunny day today, only 11 days of Summer left.

Went for my walk of course and while I was out my washing machine was busy dealing with the dirty clothes I had accumulated over the past week or so.

That Snap, Send, Solve App seems to work, the useless council might not be able to contact the NBN but the app certainly does.

From this:

To this:

…in less than a week I thought was pretty good. I will use the app again. The NBN even thanked me!

After my walk I had to visit my doctor for the results of my Chest Xray and Spirowotsit. Turns out they are all good and I don’t have to go back to him for another three months. Considering the number of people who I worked with over 30 years who have since died from Asbestos related diseases I feel very lucky (and happy).

Tomorrow is cataract op day! Something to look forward to :slightly_frowning_face:

Have a good one.

Take care…

Good morning all…

A bright sunny start to the day here by the seaside, but it looks a little overcast and may rain later.

The wife is off to see her sister today, which means she’ll be full of family gossip when she comes home. I have a few home jobs around the house to do and may pick up my camera and go for a wander if the weather holds up. First and foremost, is my morning coffee which may be accompanied with a bacon roll.

Have a good one…

 :coffee: :+1:

Good morning!
Bright, sunny, clear; the slight frost first thing has melted now

I have a few minor jobs to do today -

Mend a book shelf. I’ve collected the parts and emptied the shelf of the books, I just need to do it

Have you heard of CHAMPING?
This is an abbreviation of CHurch cAMPING, when you can stay in an old church for a night or two
Search t’Net accordingly
They’re not converted into hotels, they just provide a camp bed and a few basic amenities
I’ve been a confirmed atheist for decades, but I thought it would be interesting to do this summer, so I’ll find out more
Also I have a couple of American friends who are church goers and I’ll let them know as I think they might like that when they visit Britain again
EDIT - The Churches Conservation Trust - www.visitchurches.org.uk - maintain lots of old churches, and some of them do church camping as a sub organisation - www.champing.co.uk

Like many large organisations now, my car insurance company is all but impossible to communicate with
I’ve been on Go Compare and found a couple of likely alternatives; I’ll try phoning them today to check that I am actually talking to someone who can speak plain English

I’ll order a few minor bits & pieces for making wooden jewellery, that I mentioned recently

And at the speed I go, that will take most of the day – and you never know, I might manage a stroll in the park as well

Good day all

A sunny day here but cold , next week we suppose to be going into double digits 13c at the weekend ,

@Bruce good luck tomorrow with your eye op .

@Graham enjoy your Coffee and Bacon roll

@zuludog , you sound really busy and the Church Camping sounds a good thing ,I expect you would have to make a donation in the collection box.
Id like to see the wooden jewellery you are making when it’s finished .

Have a good day all

I read about 3 lads that kept a speed camera van operator busy with questions while the fourth lad stole the vans front number plate. They then attached it to their own car and sped through a radar trap 17 times . the van got 17 speeding tickets.

Now that is clever and good for them

@Eliza Church Camping is about £50 pppn, which is about half the rate of a typical hotel
And yes, I will also make a donation

I’ve had a digital camera and a computer for years but still haven’t learned how to post photographs, but have a look at this YT Channel, that’s the sort of thing I intend making, starting with those that just need straight saw cuts, a bit of sanding - I’ll be using all hand tools - and a careful methodical approach - I can manage that, even if cynics mean you take 5 days to do what you could do in an afternoon

Morning all…
A trip out to the humber bridge this morning to a cosy little restaurant nestled underneath called the Old Tile Works. We’ll be meeting our daughter there who will be taking our granddaughter and her partner. We will surprise our grand daughter who doesn’t know that we will be there…
She surprised us the last time we went to Bridlington, so now it’s our turn…
It’s nice and sunny now, so lets hope it stays that way, and if there’s time I’ll take them to a secret hideaway call ‘Julians Bower’ at Alkborough, where the views are spectacular looking over the confluence of the River Trent and Ouse…

Good morning all!

Once again we’ve been blessed with some sunshine, superb!
A quiet day, not that I’m complaining. I’ve been studying our local camera club’s website and I’m rather impressed. They embrace all schools of photography including old fogey filmies such as myself. I shall be sending an email of introduction and hopefully will be able to go along to a meeting next week! :camera:

Also I’m going to check out The National Rail journey planner and get my head around a day trip to Portsmouth this week rather than Arundel. A slightly longer journey but more to do, especially in the highly unlikely event that it’s raining!

Have a good one forum people! :+1:
