Yep, my new passport had arrived, I applied online on the 12nd February so it took 61 days or 8 weeks and 5 days or two months and 2 days (I used an online calculator). Of course at least a couple of weeks of that would have been postage between UK and Australia.
Anyway, tomorrow is my eye operation for the second cataract to be removed to I might be a bit late.
I was going to ask if you had your new passport Bruce , and now you have . Just hope planes are flying , what with what’s going on .Good luck with the eye op tomorrow , im sure all will go well .
Ive got several bags of compost arriving today ,and Ive ordered 40 plug plants and a shrub and Tree , coming at a later date .
The weather here is picking up and looks like summer as arrived ,Sun is shinning
Bright and sunny down here by the south coast. Today we’re off for a few days, a small trip along the south western part of the country, mainly to do a big cat photoshoot and let the wife go shopping. Probably go for a pub lunch on the way, having stopped for my essential coffee on the way. Hotel we’ve booked is supposed to be really nice and located on a golf course - not that I play it.
Had some bad news last night – neighbour rang just said “cat is gone” and then started crying. I don’t know what happened because they couldn’t say anymore. I hope to find out more today. I know I would make comments about her but I loved that little beast to bits. She hasn’t been well for some time – but at least I had a couple of days with her towards the end.
Today the plan is some general food shopping, tackle the ironing and later I have someone coming to give me a quote to clear my drive and patio of moss
@SheilaP I think you will miss your cat sitting,Im surprised the owner is upset , they spent more days on holiday than with the cat . Poor cat must have felt unwanted .
I will miss her - neighbours had her for over 13 years, she was a stray who moved into the house after living in their garden for a year!
Apparently she became very ill yesterday afternoon - they immediately took her to the vet who, very honestly, said she had a lot of problems and although he could carry out tests and various treatments he wasn’t confident anything he did would be successful. His recommendation was it would be kinder to put her to sleep. They were able to hold her and stroke her while he injected her and they stayed with her until the end. When I called in to see them this afternoon, they were still upset and cried when talking about her.
