Good Morning Thursday, 8th January 2026

Good morning all on this very hot day.

Went for my walk just after 6am but as soon as I got back I mowed the grass while it was still cool.

Had my shower and threw all my laundry into the washing machine, it was on the line just after 9am and dry by 11am

I suspect the rest of the day will be spent in front of a fan trying to keep cool. I just saw on the news that bushfires are burning in Victoria.

Time for a beer. It’s important to keep hydrated.

Keep cool or warm depending where you are.

Take care…

Good morning to you on this very ice cold day. No frost this morning and waiting for the sun to appear.

Good morning all. Another 10cms of snow overnight. I thought I would get the car out to go to the shops but have decided against it.
Have a good day all.

Good morning!
Cloudy but dry

I didn’t get into town yesterday so I’m going there soon, to get a bank mini statement

This afternoon I’ll try to change my car insurer; and since dealing with large companies now is almost impossible I expect that will be a job in itself

Hi

Good Morning All.

No snow or ice, but internet keeps falling out and speed very slow, landline and falls alarm not working.

Already an expensive day, plumber has been again, this time £230, but he is very good and cheaper than the others and bathroom basin is now working again.

We are forecast some serious snow later, but might just miss,

Have a good day all.

Morning all…

A bit wet and drizzly here on the south coast of Hampshire, just come from my daily walk where everything has thawed out from the last few days. Mrs G is off to the gym again today, leaving me on my own. I’ve just been asked if I can do a family photoshoot tomorrow, as most of the wife’s family is gathering for the first time in ages for afternoon teas and general get-together at a hotel. So I’ll be getting my stuff ready for that.

Apart from that, not too much exciting going on here. Have a great day all…

 :+1:

Good Day from a cold South Yorkshire… :026:
A couple of ladies out walking their dogs enquired why I was wearing tracky bottoms instead of my usual shorts…I told them that 0 degrees C was borderline and as soon as the temperature went above freezing, it would be business as usual…Nice girls… :slightly_smiling_face:

The canal was still frozen solid and the path covered in frost, so I put in a few short sharp bursts to keep warm but I was struggling on the last half mile home, so I just walked the last bit.
I think the cold air in the lungs can’t absorb the oxygen the muscles need.

Got most of the Christmas lights gathered in yesterday, with just some on the Holly Bush and high up on the gable end. Need the big ladder for those, a bit precarious in the cold weather.
Heating’s on most of the day now when we’re home, I keep it low on 21 C through the day but turn it up to 22 C in the evenings. It turns down to 17 C at 10:30 pm for the rest of the night, and never usually comes on, even when it’s very cold.
It’s still going to be a whopper of a bill this year…
