Good morning mid weekers, it’s a warm enough day here, though the weekend is predicted to be in the high 20s
Went shopping earlier for Easter goodies, well, hot cross buns at least. Have absolutely no plans for Easter at all, no one is visiting me, I am visiting no one, it’ll just be me chatting to the microwave
I have an appointment with my GP this arvo to get the rest of my medical done to keep my driving licence for another year. When I went to the optician I had a bit of a.shock.
As usual, to start off, he did a test with my glasses on,.
Left eye, “…can you read the bottom line?”, “L, C, M blah blah”
Right eye, “…can you read the bottom line?”, Me, “I can even read the top line, the whole lot is blurry”. My cataract in that eye has deteriorated markedly. Didn’t affect my licence since I got rid of the truck endorsement but I have to go back in 6 months with a view to seeing if I need it fixed. I will pay for at least one to be done quickly if it does, maybe get the second less urgent one done on Medicare. However there is a trend more recently for them to both be done at once but I can’t see that being convenient for me.
Oh yes, in the post this morning came my voting papers for my postal vote but that might be something for another thread.
I’m staying in again as my delivery didn’t come yesterday
No problem as I only finished one of the three letters & emails I wanted to write - believe it or not I got distracted by some cleaning! –
I wiped over a bench in the kitchen and before I knew it I’d sorted out the freezer and a cupboard
Good Morning All.
We missed the rain yesterday, I was watching it on weather radar raining north and south, only a few miles away, but nothing here.
Today is the start of my 11 days of not having my carers every day.
Life will be interesting.
I have more deliveries today , including some more corals, not planned to arrive today, supposed to be here yesterday , so I will be tired and stressed getting them in the tank .
Good Morning from Bob’s humble abode…
Was out of bed early this morning, the sun was beaming down from a clear blue sky albeit a bit nippy early on. 5 degrees C…Undeterred I ventured out in my shorts (together with hat and gloves) on my long 5 mile mile route.
Managed to put in a few short jogs on the boring bits with no ill effects. The traffic was queuing up the whole four miles into the town centre…
Another hundred yards and I’ll be turning off down a quiet road and onto the lane at the end. Bliss!
Unfortunately, I’ve grown out of my 34" waist trousers, so today’s task is to make my way to M&S at ScuNthorpe at the end of the M180 motorway. I might grab some lunch while I’m there.
front drive completed. It took 4 bags of kiln dried sand to fill in the brick joints. at least it is now done, thank goodness, and looking nice and clean with no weeds …
Good morning /afternoon everyone. A mirky today, I think it’s the correct word
After very strong winds during the night, blowing more desert dust onto my clean car , we had more dirty rain again this morning. It’s been happening too often recently, it’s just so annoying. All the cars here look like they have measles!
Now the sun seems to want to come out? Forecast not good, though.
My cardiologist has put me back on statins, even though levels are more or less normal, just to be on the safe side.
My family genes!!!
Anyway, I’m looking forward to my daughter coming over for the Easter break, I’m picking her up at the station later.
Just got back home, I’ve been out longer than anticipated. I had a meeting in town this morning at ten so I thought I’d have a mooch around and take in the sunshine.
The council installed these fountains a few years back to encourage shoppers to spend in the town centre. The fly in the ointment is that there are very few decent shops left.
If you want to vape, get your nails done or treat yourself to an overpriced coffee then you’re not likely to be disappointed. The town is becoming increasingly derilect and run down.
