Had to catch a bus to visit my specialist this morning after my eye op yesterday (not allowed to drive until the weekend). The bus driver was a lovely girl but she had more metal piercings in her face than anyone I have ever seen and her finger nails were 3 to 4 cm long. As I say she was lovely, she greeted everyone with a “Good Morning” and a thank you when said “thank you” as you got off (I think that is an Australian thing thanking the bus driver as you get off).
Co incidentally she was driving the bus for my trip home too.
Now I have to organise my annual driving licence check up and get the S taken off my driving licence (for Spectacles). I made a special trip to Big W for a pair of sunnies because I find that after all these years going out without wearing glasses rather disconcerting.
Anyway it’s bin day in the morning so I am about to put my bin out. Can this day get any more exciting?
This happy lady is going to the Theatre today , a Agatha Christie play Death on the Nile ,
Its a sunny day and mild , yesterday we had a mother of a Thunder and Lightening storm .
We here also say Thank You to the driver @Bruce , its polite to do so , Don’t know if its done in the Bigger Cities though .
Morning all – some sunshine this morning but still feels chilly
As a matter of interest, Bruce it used to be normal in Bristol for people to say “cheers drive” as they got off the bus - I always thank the driver.
Met up with a friend yesterday, she lives in the next county so we only see each other once a month. We sat in a café for almost 4 hours and didn’t stop talking (yes we did buy food and drinks!). As there are extensive roadworks on her route I suggested we cancel but she wouldn’t have it – took her 1 ½ hours to do a journey which normally takes about 40 minutes.
Received the quote for cleaning my drive and patio – not as much as I thought it would be, just have to find a day which suits us both
Today is the usual meet up with the “girls”. The exercise class they usually go to has been cancelled so we are going to meet up an hour earlier – bet we won’t leave any earlier though!
