Morning all…

Looks like yet another hot and sunny day down here in southern Hampshire. It was supposed to be sunny yesterday, but it was thunder and lightning instead with a cloud burst. Just come back from my walk around a small water course and the levels are seriously low. We could use some serious rain right now.

Today, I’m being taken out for a pub lunch and I suspect I’m going to be tapped up to do photography for a Christening in October, which is not really what I prefer to do for various reasons. But we’ll see.

Meanwhile, my coffee levels are diminishing and time to activate kettle and today, I’ve decided to include a quick phone pick of the scene this morning.

Take care all…

:coffee: :+1:

Just call me ‘Robert the Restorer’
This rose was just a potfull of sticks when it came to me for restoration, and in just a few short weeks with some love and attention, look what it’s turned into…

This mornings sweaty walk/jog went ahead as planned, and I’ve happened on a great training method for someone with a dicky ticker…For me anyway…
I can no longer jog for more than 100 seconds at a very relaxed pace.
But a body gets used to jogging at an ‘Old Blokes Pace’ and the benefits are reduced.
So based on interval training, which is excellent training, I only run for 50 seconds but fast, perhaps just half a dozen reps each weekly session and see how it goes…
:running_man:

A very warm 24 degrees C when I got back home, but yesterday it managed to climb up to
33 degrees C…With some cloud cover today I don’t think it will reach 30…

No rain here Bruce for quite sometime, and with the hosepipe ban my lawns are looking like straw…
You are right about the telly Swim, I just watch the street and a couple of old detective dramas while I’m doing the dinner and washing up after.
That’s a great photo Graham, reminds me of Constables ‘The Hay Wain’…

Afternoon all. Tried to ring my Daughter, no signal, didn’t think any more abut it, then later this morning got an FB message from her saying she’s in hospital for tests due to terrible pains in her chest, she said they’ve checked her heart & that’s good, but she is still in pain & waiting for more tests. She is likely, no certain, to be there for ages.
Her Partner will go get her & take her home when she is finished. I just hope it isn’t anything serious, she was complaining of chest pain yesterday but thought it indigestion. She is on certain medication so hope it’s one of those causing it. You never know what side effects drugs can give you, I know from trials & experience. I am worried though, she is my only family now.

Thanks OGF, She is still waiting for results & is fed up. Our hospital has not improved since I was there in A&E all those years ago, well 4 years actually. She has been there for hours now, most of the day. I thought they had got quicker, obviously not.
PS Your rose is very pretty.

Update… Daughter is being picked up by her partner, she’ll tell me about it when she gets back home.

So happy to hear they have released her to come home. It could be anything from a pulled muscle to cramping from meds… don’t worry until it’s time. Hugs to you.

Daughter says her chest still hurts & her throat when she tries to swallow, but they couldn’t find anything wrong after the tests she had. She is very tired, was actually taken to the hospital at 3 a.m yesterday, so waiting times not really better now. She is going for a consult to see if our Doctors are better. I think she should have had a scan on her neck & throat area. They only x-rayed her chest. At the hospital they did say what she has wasn’t life threatening. Tell that to someone who can’t eat because swallowing is too painful.
I think our NHS is broken.

I think A&E are in such a mess Tiff, because the local doctors are rubbish these days so it’s best to visit A&E and rule out the local surgery. I bit my tongue and wouldn’t stop bleeding, I’m on a few blood thinners. After two or three hours I was getting worried and visited the surgery for advice. They said “Oh we don’t do anything like that here, you better go to A&E”
I spent six hours in there and it eventually stopped on it’s own, but I received some good advice from a doctor what to do if it happened again. That’s all I wanted…
Glad to hear your daughter has been sent home, but you would think the tests would have been more thorough…

Only one that I know of though she wasn’t an original, the branch was founded by a group which included her father, she is well into her 90s

You would think they’d done more tests wouldn’t you. Oh! Well, hopefully see if Doctor any better. When or if she has got in touch with the surgery, will find out tomorrow.
Good night everyone.

Our regional A & Es are a complete disaster Foxy, not enough personnel, they’re great as soon as you arrive but after first emergency care, you’re just left there waiting, I was kept in four nights on a stretcher, waiting for further tests!!! I ended up arguing with a doctor, almost threatening him, he had to get another doctor assigned to me as he just didn’t want to have anything to do with me anymore! It was funny how the new doctor who came was particularly kind and efficient with me!

Making a nuisance of yourself is the only way to get good treatment in our NHS too Rose…
