Good morning all it’s another warmish day I think it is supposed to get up to 27° later.
That ruddy daylight saving kicked in over night so it was still dark until 6.30am. I remembered to reset all my clocks last night except for my watch. I changed the latter this morning - you need a degree in engineering to do it. I hope this is now Sunday in the UK, I know when the UK daylight saving starts it is a very narrow window.
Spend a fair bit of the morning cutting more of my Lilly Pilly’ branches off - just the branches that are too close to the house.
Good morning from cold, windy, rainy Italy. What more do I want?
I know it’s Autumn but it’s much tooooooo early for us!
Those branches look like the ones I cut down yesterday afternoon @Bruce , except that mine are from an olive tree. These branches were also very near the wall of my house and were attacking the firewood stove outdoor pipe. I did two jobs in one, now they will be cut up and added to the firewood stack , they’re great for lighting!
Just had some porridge for breakfast to warm up a bleak start to the day.
Hoping everyone else’s Sunday will be sunnier than ours.
I spent most of yesterday under the duvet, dozing & drinking tea, and I feel a bit better today
I’ll clean & tidy the kitchen soon, but at a civilised rate, and I think that will be enough work for one day
Then I’ll have a shower and spend this afternoon & evening reading a couple of cookery books I got from the library, and I must really return them next week
Had quite a successful day yesterday with a photoshoot at a country manor/hotel down in the New Forest. Unfortunately, it showered and was a case of darting in and out of shelter when it rained. But when it stopped, it was clear blue sunny weather, which made it ideal, and with a quick glance of my pics, there may be some really good ones in there. It will take a quite a while to go through them all, probably a week or two.
Whilst doing that, Mrs G and siblings were going through the last of my Father in Law’s belongings and almost cleared out the house. Now there is the onerous task of clearing out his garage, being a bit of a hoarder of junk. We have a car filled with stuff which is destined to a charity shop, and bags of stuff to dump off at the recycling centre. After that, it will be down to the executors to sell the house, which does need some minor work done on it.
So today is dropping off stuff, shopping, do some photo prints for my sister in law and grab something to eat.
Before all that, coffee and a good chance of a double-chocolate muffin (for medicinal purposes!) to start the day off with.
Good morning - A bright and sunny one it is too. Got to do some work getting a new washing line hole into place. The post of the new one has a larger diameter than the old one. Dig out the old concrete and prepare for the new etc. Not much else going on. Family visiting later.
Good Morning everyone from a blustery South Yorkshire…
Busy day today checking over and cleaning the motor for tomorrows excursion to Wales.
Out for my Sunday walk first with a jog/walk along the canal towpath. Nice and dry after the strong winds overnight but piles of leaves, twigs and acorns strewn across the paths.
Might not get time to post in the morning as we want to be off early and drop Rosie the cat off at my daughters on the way.
Watch out for the spelling mistakes as I take up writing posts on my phone…
I just realised Bruce, you are getting darker mornings while we will get lighter mornings and an extra hour in bed, as our clocks go back at the end of the month.
I have porridge every morning Rose, come winter or summer…I guess I’m just too methodical and monotonous, Mrs Fox calls it boring!
I put in a new washing line a few years ago Mart, digging the old concrete ball out was backbreaking, I don’t think I could have done it now…
I will stop having porridge for breakfast soon, I have it in the winter, alternating with Shredded Wheat in hot milk, summer is Weet-bix, Rice Bubbles or No Name Neutrigrain in cold milk. My porridge used to be made a bit runny, a left over from Butlins Holiday Camps but these days it tends to be 2:1 with milk and butter.
It actually got to over 31° today so the weather is definitely warming up
