Good morning to all you Easter Bunnies out there. It is partly cloudy, partly sunny day today, I think it is only about 21° but cool enough for me to get my cardigan out.
I noticed on my walk this morning that fuel prices have dipped slightly with the halving of fuel excise and there is a chance that if the Premiers’ agree to forgo some of their windfall GST (VAT) they might go down a tiny bit more but I suspect that unless something changes in the Middle East the only way for prices to go is up.
Not sure what I shall be doing this arvo, I might spend a bit of time sitting in the garden if the wind stays down, the lawn is fairly wet after 5mm of rain overnight. I remembered to put the clocks back last night for the end of daylight savings so I woke at 5am this morning wondering where I was .
I took some pics of the flying foxes while I was out walking but will put a couple in the photo thread.
Have a happy Easter, don’t go hanging around on any crosses, eat lots of Hot Cross buns (or was that supposed to be done on Friday?)
The sun is out at last, temperatures are rising, such a relief to see the end of that torrential rain we had for days, mornings are still very cold however.
A rest day today, no cooking for me, I’m taking my son and daughter out for our Easter lunch, we have a table booked in a nice restaurant in town, just about made it, they were all full already, a week before Easter. We have a saying here that Christmas is to be celebrated at home with family but Easter wherever you want.
Luckily the rain stopped on Friday 3rd, because if it had rained on the 4th, another saying: “Rain on 4th April means rain for forty days!” Believe me, this has happened in past years.
Yes, our culture is full of proverbs, I could write you a book but I don’t want to let you all fall asleep again just as you’re all starting to wake up.
Have a great day everyone, and don’t eat too much chocolate.
After a stormy night , it looks a lot calmer today , the sky is blue and the sun is out .
Yesterdays trip out to the castle was enjoyable, it was busy. in the Cafe , I ordered a Hot chocolate and ate my packed lunch at the table inside , it was too blowy to sit outside, and cooler than I thought .I wished I had put a warmer coat on .
I think today I will pack a lunch again and go a walk to the cliff walk, it over looks the River Trent , or maybe sit in the Memorial Park where we take the dog a walk … I take a chance there though of breathing in Cannabis smoke ,Users go there I found , each to their own as long as it doesn’t trouble others .
A bright day here in southern Hampshire, but a bit overcast. Not completely sure what’s happening here, I plan to go to a local woods and maybe wander to the New Forest to see what I can do with my camera, as there isn’t anything else going on today, apart from getting a coffee somewhere. Probably end up going for a stroll along the waterfront if it’s not too windy and sit in the car watching the cruise ships go past, if any are sailing today. Last night managed to finish up the first round of chocolate bunnies, having a second round of bunnies tonight, whilst watching whatever film I can find on Netflix. Beyond that, no idea.
Morning Everyone and Happy Easter…
Set off for my morning walk at 7:00am under a clear blue sky. The wind had died down since last nights visit from storm Dave…And I was moving along at a good pace. Hardly any cars on the main road, and never saw one dog walker as I turned onto the lane home and the last couple of miles. It was then that I noticed the awful black clouds heading my way, and it wasn’t long before the heavens opened with still a mile to go…
So I arrived home after a good soaking and out came the sun while I was cleaning my shoes…
The forty days and forty nights of rain usually occurs on the 15th of July here @Rose2 it’s one day after my birthday and is St Swithins Day…My birthday is on ‘Bastille Day’ …Yes! I know…
