Good Morning Sunday, 31st August 2025

Good morning dearly beloved (well, it is Sunday) and it is warm and sunny, that cold air mass has buggered off to New Zealand.

It is also the last day of Winter, tomorrow is the beginning of Spring - something else to be prayer/joyful about is it not? (Again it IS Sunday)

Had to make a quick visit to the chemist at the end of the street with my blood pressure prescription. Totally forgot about it until I was staring at the empty packet.

Detoured on the way home for quick visit to Coles for tomatoes and bananas, picked up other odds and sods while I was there.

Slapped a bit more varnish on a little project of mine, then it was sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine (it is not that warm, maybe 20/21° still needed my cardigan)

I noticed that my pile of read books is looking a bit unstable - it wobbles as I walk past - might need a rethink.

Enjoy the remains of the weekend.

Take care…

I noticed your Celsius temperature (which is 68-70 in DegF), and thought that a word I coined is my main reason for staying with the American Standard System. It’s not Imperial, but no one abbreviates it because of the obvious reason (It’s actually the US Customary System, but I like my name for it better). Anyway, the word I coined differentiates between “spicy hot” and “temperature hot.” When it’s the latter, I tell people “It’s Fahrenhot.” It works, but not in the metric system. I figure since “irregardless” and “ur” have made appearances in the dictionary, anything goes, and I happen to like my made-up word.

Morning all this sunny Sunday…

Today, it looks like we’re off outlet shopping again, which will probably take most of the day. For me, that means standing around outside shops listening to about a dozen albums on my phone, whilst Mrs G disappears for hours on end and resurfaces with a load of bags full of stuff we probably don’t need. Naturally, this can only take place after a strong coffee and maybe a bacon roll to calm my nerves.

All this has come about as my nephew has just had a baby daughter and Mrs G wants to shower her with presents and clothes.

Anyways, whatever you’re doing, have a great day…

:shopping:  :croissant:

There are some places on Earth that have periods where the temperature hits -40, at which point it wouldn’t matter as it’s blooming cold out there in any language:wink::grimacing:

Good Morning All.

A dry start then rain forecast.

I have Shiv and family here this afternoon to clean,it is free electric from 2 to 3,which means use as much as possible.

Apart from that it is a doing nothing day.

Have a good day all.

Morning all – sunshine this morning but, surprise surprise, more rain forecast for later

Found myself looking out the window this morning wishing I could see the beast in next doors garden but I know she will be well looked after in the cattery

Not much planned for today, Sunday being a day of rest, although I do have some paperwork to get through that has been calling me name for a couple of weeks

Take care – have a great day

Good Afternoon Everyone…
Sunny and warm (25 degrees C) now after the 13 degrees C when I set off for my walk…
Since I abandoned the fahrenheit scale back in the sixties together with liberty bodices and short trousers, I have to convert everything to Celsius to get some idea of what hot is… :017:
There can’t be anything simpler than 0 degrees C for freezing water and 100 degrees C for boiling water…Simples! I mean…32 degrees F for freezing and 212 degrees F for boiling… :017:What’s that all about then?

Peace and tranquility returned to Fox household after Mrs Fox left to ‘man’ (woman doesn’t sound quite right) her brick a brack stall down at the Art Festival, so I’m on cat feeding duty and get yer own lunch duty today…I’ve also being left in charge of the oven for tonight’s dinner…
D’you want a cat Sheila…I’ve got one here who is only good when she’s asleep…A bit like Mrs Fox…
:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Went to the tip, had to throw a lot of stuff in un-recyclables as the places we wanted were totally full, sad that.

Thank you for the kind offer Foxy but I would not dream of depriving you of all those wonderful things to come, claws in knees, being woken in the early hours because she wants food, scratched furniture, smelly litter trays and of course contented purrs and cuddles! (I’m talking about Rosie not Mrs. Fox!)
