Good Morning Sunday, 30th November 2025

Good morning all on this fine weekend.

It did get a bit blustery yesterday arvo but nothing like the forecast temps stayed in the low 30s until early evening.

My birdbath has needed refilling a lot recently this morning it was dry. I looked closely and it has cracked. I can see a trip to Bunnings in my future for some mortar to patch this up :slightly_frowning_face: Not happy Jan.

Nothing planned for today so reading will be on the agenda for sure. Rang my son in Darwin this morning for his birthday - no answer, just a message saying, ā€œjust got off night shift, going to sleep, will call laterā€. I must admit I found a certain satisfaction in that after years of shift work with those kids waking me up during the day!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

A very bright start to the day but the rain is due soon.

It was remarkably quiet last night, I didn’t hear a single police siren at all.

I managed to make myself a sausage sandwich and a coffee for breakfast, a simple thing but a huge step forward for me, cheered me up no end.

I ordered 5 items from Amazon, Black Friday deals, 4 of them are regular purchases by me, but I also got a hair clipper, I am going to try cutting my hair myself.

I only have a helper for half an hour today, so I will spend the day watching the second series of Sherwood.

Have a safe and enjoyable day.

Good morning everyone, at last the sun has got his hat on!

These are my lemons I’ll have to pick before the real cold weather sets in. If I counted right, there are still about fifteen left.

My daughter’s just messaged me saying she’s been invited by her flatmate, on a day trip to Venice today, they live only about an hour away by train. She’s wondering whether to go or not, I obviously replied saying how can you refuse such a proposal! :astonished:
She’s going! Some day trip, eh?
Looking forward to having her home for Christmas.

No fitness classes during the weekend but that’s no excuse I keep telling myself, so it’s time to get out my gym mat, check in to YouTube and do my Over 50s workout.

I’ve been reading about fixing cracks lately in the morning thread, @Bruce and @Surfermom. I should think about trying to repair some on my marble kitchen counter tops and window sills! :worried:

Have a great last Sunday of the month everyone.

Morning all…

Bright and sunny out today down by the seaside. Hard to believe this time last year we were sat on a plane heading to Florida - just where has the year gone?

Not sure what’s happening today, just come back from my daily walk. Probably go out for a breakfast and coffee a little later, may even go for a walk along the seafront, if it’s not too windy.

Yesterday we went to the local shops and didn’t realise they were lighting up the Christmas tree, which meant there were market stalls and bands playing. It was also extremely packed and crowded. We would not stay for the actual lighting, which is not worth hanging around for, we just needed a few bits and pieces from shops and a coffee and roll.

Did take a quick snap of some reindeer. Have a great Sunday all…

Good morning!
Clear, & bright sunshine
It was frosty first thing but that’s gradually melting

My flat has been looking a bit scruffy & untidy lately, especially as I still haven’t repaired the two book shelves that collapsed about a week ago, and the books are just piled on the floor
So that’s today’s job, plus vacuuming & dusting, and hopefully I’ll have one room tidy by the end of today

Then I’ll work through the other rooms one day at a time for the rest of the week

It felt a lot colder than the 3 degrees C suggested on the thermometer, but after the sun came up, about halfway around my walk/jog it did feel a bit warmer…At least, Mrs Fox said it was. She goes out later than me and walks sooooo Slooooow stopping for nags with everyone she meets…
… :069:
Rosie the cat dashed out when I unlocked the door and didn’t want to come back in, but by the time I put my stuff away and headed for the shower she was scratching at the door. Opening the door in the nude was a bit of a shock though…A good job we don’t get post on a Sunday…Although the milkman was taken aback…
I’ve got loads to do today, but don’t feel like doing any of it while I’m sat here in the kitchen with the warm sun on my back. I better watch the recoding of the F1 sprint race in Qatar before I accidentally see something on the news…

Sort out the weeks tablets first, but the Christmas lights will have to wait… dinner is cooking in the oven and I need to sort out a playlist on youtube before it’s ready or else Mrs Fox will talk my left ear off while we’re eating it…I can never understand how come she finishes her dinner before me when she hardly ever stops talking while eating, and I just listen… :017:

Hi Bob#

A great post.

You are a great observer of life and a brilliant way of describing it

Very true to life in Yorkshire.

A place where men are men, they work very hard, mostly in skilled trades, to provide for the family.

A place where men are hard, but women rule the roost.

Mrs OGF sounds like my 2 little sisters., ie dangerous and they have a tendency to get what they want with a single glance.

I really enjoy your posts.

A late good afternoon people!

Up with the lark at about four in the morning, not by choice it’s just my pattern of sleeping wether I like it or not
Hit the gym, legs day has come around yet again. Maxed out at 260k which is my best yet… probably be stiff as a post tomorrow.

We were going to have a day in but since it was such a cheerful sunny Sunday I took Chilli jnr out to the pub for a spot of socialising, lunch and some live music :notes:

There’s ever such a nice lady that works behind the bar, roast beef sarnies weren’t even on the menu today but she made sure I got some without even asking, an extra little pot of horseradish sauce too!

Someone is deffo on my Christmas card list :+1::christmas_tree:
Time for a quick plonk to sleep it all off…

Have a good what’s left of the day people! :+1:

Good afternoon all! What a beautiful Sunday it is around forum land. @Rose2, your view is heavenly, and I can only imagine the aroma around your lemon tree. I didn’t realize how disappointing our market lemons are until I visited Italy. What an offer for you daughter! I hope she went. What a pleasure Venice is.

Is that your dog, Chilli? What a handsome pup and a big love! I love the nose freckles. I like the leg machine, but I confess I prefer the similar machine with the pinned weights; it’s easier to manage; I am so clumsy that I’d surely drop one of those weights on my toe…or someone else’s :grimacing:.

OGF, time to reel you in again, tsk, tsk, tsk :079:. Does it count if Mrs. OGF’s finished her dinner first if she dumped your portion on your head? Just asking .

'Tis the season for crowded streets and even more crowds shops, @Graham. Those are nifty reindeer! I have never seen one up close.

@Bruce and @zuludog let us know how this projects go!

@swimfeeders, it must have felt satisfying to put that meal together. Little victories, right?!

My company is gone, so the twenties and I wandered off to the beach for a walk, and I stole some time to get through some long overdue reading. It’s cloudy now with a promise of rain, but that’s ok with me.

I’ve just roasted some peppers to make some hummus, but alas, it’s Darwin Night. Everyone has to find their own dinner :sunglasses:, Survival of the fittest and all…

Have a nice evening!
