Good Morning Sunday, 30th March 2025

Good morning one and all on another wet day. While some places received from 280 to 400mm yesterday my gauge showed a meagre 20mm. I am deprived :icon_wink:

Mind you it is belting down as I write this - only showers though, some heavy rain for maybe five minutes but the ground is saturated so it is all runoff.

I spent some of yesterday arvo revising my trip to Darwin as parts of my planned route are currently under a few metres of water and while the water may well have disappeared in a month’s time the roads and infrastructure may not be back up and running by then.

Anyway that is all in the future so here, to brighten up this wet morning, is traffic light box of the day:

Not sure how I will spend the rest of the day, far too wet outdoors, the ground is sodden. I have just started a new book so there is that to be getting on with otherwise it looks like I might be taking the “day of rest” very literally.

We seem to have gained some new members recently perhaps they will join us and tell us about their plans for the day?

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you are doing.

Take care…

Good morning all

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums on here and out in the world
Today Ive requested to go to an exhibition at Southwell Minster,

Threads through the Bible is made up of three huge sequences, ‘Threads through Creation’, ’Threads through the Cross’ and ‘Threads through Revelation’ to create one incredible display of textile art. ‘Threads through Creation’ and ‘Threads through Revelation’ have been displayed in many cathedrals in Britain: this is the first time they will come together with ‘Threads through the Cross’. It’s a rare opportunity not to be missed. This year there are only three places to see this astonishing exhibition – Liverpool Cathedral, Southwell Minster and Ely Cathedral.

If theres time We shall go to a Garden Centre and have a bite to eat

Have a Happy day

Morning all – another lovely sunny start to the day

I love street art Bruce, and I mean art not senseless “tagging”. Of course coming from Bristol we have many examples of the works of Banksy (who you have probably never heard of!)

Clocks went forward last night so feeling a little disorientated having lost an hour – the beast was also confused that I arrived an hour early to feed her. Despite the sunshine she refused to go out this morning, probably too early for her. Her usual servants are due home this afternoon so this should be my last early rising for a while.

Spoke to my brother yesterday, and the good news is that whilst Mum is still very confused it seems her health is improving and she is now eating regularly – I always said she was a stubborn old thing.

Not much planned for today – I may take advantage of the sunshine and get some laundry done, or I may convince myself as it is a day of rest to leave it until tomorrow!

Take care – have a great day

Good Morning from Foxy’s World… :man_running:
Mild at 10 degrees C but with a very blustery wind, it was nice to see the sun though…
Managed to merge some jogging into this mornings walk and felt good all the way round my five mile route. Good going and nice’n’dry through the wood…

The deserted road will not look like this through the week…

Looking behind to my favourite roundabout…

Pictures from my new phone…

Good afternoon everyone, still raining here ,although, not so much, but still no sunshine.
Glad to hear you’re getting the hang of your new phone @OldGreyFox , I understand that nowadays, changing phones can be a really dramatic event! :astonished: I really like the way your territory has been made “pedestrian friendly”, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the path, not needing to walk too near the road, so you will be protected by cars going past splashing in puddles, after its been raining. Unless it’s a very big puddle.
That’s a lovely little path through the woods, too, we have no paths in our woods nearby, you have to equip yourself like Indiana Jones if you want to go for a stroll through them.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mums who live in countries celebrating it today, we have ours in May.

Yes I do too, especially murals but these boxes brighten the place up. I have heard of Banksy, they had his shredded auction painting on the news.

I must admit I rarely use my camera these days, most of my pictures are taken with my phone it is so convenient and the quality is excellent for online pics.

I use the app Dropbox. it automatically uploads any phone pictures to my computers. I use the free service which has limited space and only three devices but that is fine for me. If I take photos while I am out they are on my desktop when I get home. Once I get near the limit I move the photos on my desktop and delete the photos from Dropbox and start again.

The problem is that I don’t rename the photos like I do my camera photos.

BTW you will find your phone is very clever, if you do s search on your photos for, say, “car” or “dog” it will find all the photos with cars or dogs in them. It is brilliant and fighteningly clever - my son showed me it.

Thanks Bruce, I’ll look into ‘Dropbox’ it sounds like a good idea. At the moment I have to transfer the photos using bluetooth. It can be very slow because the phone is taking photos in 50 Mpx.
I don’t think we realise what power we hold in our hands with the new smartphones.
I agree, it’s frightening…
