Good Morning Sunday, 2nd November 2025

Good morning to everyone on this very overcast but warmish day.

The forecast is for no rain today so, despite the clouds, I decided to get my laundry done because it was building up and the rest of the week promises to be wet.

Later in the morning wandered over to Big W for a look around - actually for a new rain gauge (mine is cracked) but they didn’t have any at all. However, joy of joys, they did have the latest Jane Harper novel so I bought that instead. Very pleased with that.

Haven’t checked my washing on the line yet but hopefully it is nearly dry as there is a slight breeze.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care…

Morning all this fine Sunday.

Not much going on here today. A couple of Christmas Fairs maybe, something to eat somewhere. Having a new washing machine delivered tomorrow, have to unplumb the old one to make room for it. No idea when its going to show up, which means I’ll probably have to stay in all day waiting for it and wrestle the thing in when it arrives.

Have a great day all…

Morning all – another sunny start to the day

I turned the mattress yesterday. I managed to lift it up pull it towards me and then let it drop, only for it to fall onto the bedside cabinet, knocking the clock and table lamp off! No breakages but I now have to admit there are some things I cannot do!

As the event I was going to last night was cancelled, I settled down to an evening watching TV when one of my sisters-in-law showed up unexpectedly. I am always pleased to see her and we spent a couple of very enjoyable hours chatting.

I am expecting a parcel today (no not more books this time!) apart from that I have no plans

Have a great day everyone

stabbing on train, 9 seriously injured and another in hospital. 2 men arrested, 1 Nov 2025

Good morning!
Mixed cloud & sun, but dry

I have some self assembly bookshelves that date from the 1980s
They have been through about 5 house moves and have been patched up a few times mainly because the small plastic lugs that support the shelves are becoming brittle and distorted
I went into the living room this morning to see that it had happened again overnight while I was asleep
A top shelf had collapsed onto the one below, which also broke/collapsed
I’ve stacked the books into reasonably neat piles and I’ll repair things in the near future

However that can wait a while as I want to press on with repairing the fireside bellows
And I need to buy some fittings & screws to repair the shelves
