Good Morning Sunday, 28th September 2025

Good morning everyone as we enjoy the remains of the weekend, Still warm here in the mid 20s but there is a chance of a shower or two over the next couple of days according to BOM.

My daughter starts her journey home from foreign parts tomorrow so I am looking forward to seeing her, though that might not be for another week or so.

Am going to take the drone out this arvo just to practice flying it. At least if it is not raining I will.

Had a bit of a scare this morning, rang my friend twice who has just come back from hospital but she didn’t answer. Naturally I thought the worst but was relieved when she eventually rang me, even better she might be at coffee and cake tomorrow. I have a job for afterwards to go to the seniors club office and pump up the tyres on the club’s wheel car, it hasn’t been used for years but might come in handy. None of us are getting any younger.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, hope your weather is a bit brighter than mine (cloudy).

Take care…

Morning all…

Last Friday, my father in law, who had been in hospital then hospice, passed away. We had the phone call in the morning saying his condition had worsened and his family need to be with him. And in the evening, he slipped away whilst asleep, with everyone there by his side. Yesterday was a bit of a respite day with everyone coming to terms with it, and my wife’s brother starting the process with paperwork and making contacts etc.

Today, its start to go through his house and reconcile assets, wills, letters and all that stuff and go to dinner afterwards, which was originally planned for everyone to see my brother in law’s grand daughter, who is only a few months old. But my father in law’s illness took over and he never got to see her, apart from some photos. So I’m not sure how everything’s going to turn out today, as there is a lot of family politics to deal with, which I could personally do without.

Anyways, hope everyone has a good day…

I’m sorry to read that Graham. There is so much to do on the practical side of things when a family member passes on and the last thing wanted is to deal with them when in deep sorrow. My sympathies to all.

Good morning!
Bright, sunny, clear & dry

I don’t usually go shopping on a weekend now, as the stores are busy, but I’ve run out of milk and a couple of other things
Think I’ll go to the new LIDL store

Just general pottering about for the rest of the day

Good morning - A family day because it is a son’s birthday. Rather than sitting back, he want’s to cook a Sunday roast over at his place and bring it to ours. There will be 6 or 7 of us. I hope it all works out OK. I’m not complaining …although as chief washer-upper in our house maybe I should.

A nice pie and pea evening down at the church hall last night with all the old geezers from the village. I was the only young fellow there…
Had a couple of quiz’s and got whooped by all the old retired school teachers, who wants a framed picture of Keir Starmer and a bottle of plonk anyway… :009:
Went berserk with a pair of hand shears on Friday and gave the holly bush a proper cutting down to size…My hands and arms have stopped bleeding now after being pricked to death…The holly bush didn’t go down without a fight…

Misty, wet and mild this morning and some (Mrs Fox) would call it miserable, but I enjoyed the walk/jog out in the still and moist air…I swear I felt a few rain spots as I dodged around all the puddles on the lane…

A bottle of red wine is breathing on the table and the pork steaks are cooking in the oven so it’s off for a shower now before lunch…

PS:- So sorry to hear about father in Law Graham…Please accept Mrs Fox and my commiserations…A sad day for you and your family…

Good morning, from the dark skies of Florida.

Just back from a quick - and short - two miles around the track. I am hosting the fellowship after the chapel services at the assisted living community in a few hours, so I had to beat the roosters and sun out bed this morning to get a run in and still have time to pack the van with baked goods and linens.

@Graham, I am so terribly sorry to read your news about your FIL. You and your wife have my condolences. It’s never easy to lose a parent, but I hope she found some peace in being able to say goodbye. Hopefully you’ll meet your BIL’s granddaughter and that precious new life will buoy everyone’s spirits.

@May, I envy you a quiet weekend at the helm of the day. Enjoy pajama day!

@Bruce, safe travels to your daughter and @Mart, happy birthday to your son! Grab me a gallon of 2%, would you @zuludog. We don’t have LIDL here but we do have ALDI.

That holly trimming is a thing to behold @OldGreyFox. You are hired!

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday.
