A quick one today, just about to go for a impromptu family get-together and pub lunch. Wife wants to squeeze in some shopping beforehand. Looks like I won’t be having my usual morning coffee today.
Good Morning Everyone…
Jeez Bruce, if I lived where you lived I’d never be away from those hills in the distance…
A lot different here in South Yorkshire this morning, with temperatures hovering around 6 degrees C and gentle rain that accompanied me around my walk/jog.
It started to look like a nice day yesterday with the odd fluffy cloud and bright sunshine, but as we ascended the wolds, dark heavy clouds were forming until they completely covered the horizon. Steak and vegetable pie made the long drive to Bridlington worth while, and afterwards a drive by the sea for a photo shoot…Although the sea looked very angry, it was a pity that high tide wouldn’t be in until a few hours later, it really crashes over the prom and so impressive…
During our drive along the front two coastguard vehicles passed us in a hurry with blue lights flashing, and as we approached the South Side of the bay they were launching the lifeboat.
Some very brave souls on that boat, I wouldn’t fancy sailing into that surf…Once it was launched, it bobbed up and down like a cork…Mrs Fox felt sick just watching it…
This morning it is just dark, damp, lounge lights are on so I can see to type this.
Boneless pork leg joint is in the air fryer, frozen mash and frozen casserole veg out in dish ready for the microwave and yorkies and gravy will be added.
I will be playing silly idiots this afternoon, changing the various canister filters in the RO Unit so I get pure water for my marine aquarium.
Burns Night, celebrated on January 25th, honors Scotland’s national poet, (Rabbie Burns), by celebrating his life, poetry, and Scottish culture with feasts (featuring haggis!), whisky, recitations, and toasts, originating from the first supper held by his friends after his death to commemora
I don’t normally post here, but today is slightly different for me from @Bruce and his beautiful day.
We have 8 degrees F outside today, -25 deg F wind chill last night and tonight.
We are at the beginning of 15" to 20" of snow before tomorrow at noon! I’m ready to get outside and clean snow off my car in about an hour, keeping up with 5" or so at a time.
I only hope the electricity stays on, as the wind and ice are hard on our wires outside.
Aw, you warmed up my heart just now! Thank YOU for always seeing the best in any situation, and making me smile knowing that despite all you go through on a daily basis, those fish are well taken care of.
I heard you were going to have a rough time at your side of the pond RN, I hope it doesn’t cause too much disruption.
We’ll all be thinking about you…Stay safe…
PS:- Echoing Swims comment… It’s good to see you posting in here RN It’s nice to see more of you…
Perhaps I should rephrase that…
Stay safe RightNow. We had over 1/2 metre of snow in our part of Scotland a few days ago. Now with the heavy rain and snowmelt our rivers are bursting their banks.
