Good morning everybody, another typical Spring day, sunny with temperatures in the low 20s.
I changed the doona on my bed yesterday because I was too hot the night before, of course it was much cooler last night and got down to 10° fortunately as a precaution I had prepared a hot water bottle so all was well.
Flew my drone this morning for a little while, didn’t take many photos, it was only over my garden but I did check out my two solar panels on the car port roof.
This one keeps the Aux battery in my car topped up…Early morning, so it is in the shade from my Cumquat tree, I could move it but it gets enough sun later.
…while this one keeps my camper’s battery topped up. Scintillating stuff eh?
Spent a frustrating time working on the batch file that moves the photos/videos from the drone SD card to my computer, it only transferred one picture or video, it took me far too long to realise my mistake, it was an absurdly simple and stupid error, age has definitely wearied me but then again what else would I be doing?
Enjoy the remains of your weekend, have a good one.
Not sure what’s happening today as everything is in disarray with my Father in law’s declining health.
Yesterday we were told his heath has become considerably worse in the last few days. Will be going to visit him later, along with all the family and we should get a better picture as to how he is, as he is still having tests and waiting results.
Meanwhile, my wife is losing sleep and not eating and all the other things we normally do are just not getting done.
Good morning from the still summer air of Florida.
@Graham, I am sorry to read about your FIL and daughter having another rough go of it. I hope she can get some sleep soon.
The sprinklers are running. I waited as long as I could, but with the grass and tropicals are looking more like an Arizona desert, I decided to shower them wit a little mercy. A great blue heron is out there squawking, apparently happy over that decision. It always tickles me that such a magnificent bird has such an undignified “song.”
We are scheming to take the boat out, so I am in the midst of throwing together some Caprese sliders and chilled veggies. There hasn’t been any surfing to be had for weeks, so this will at least scratch the itch to get into the water. The debate is whether to take the dogs, which adds a layer of fun - and calamity. There is seemingly ever some sort of minor disaster when we take them - seasickness, jumping into the water at anchorage ( like lifting a thrashing wet dog into a boat ), or eating the food when no one is looking. Ever the fool am I; the chaos is also somehow worth it.
A bit late I know but better late than never…Good Day Ya All…
That about covers everyone…
Very cold this morning (7 degrees C) but not cold enough to despatch the shorts in favour of something more appropriate. Scampered around a decent five mile route and came back down the lane which was submerged after last nights heavy rain. I managed to avoid the puddles the size of lake Windermere but in an attempt to avoid getting my feet wet I fell foul of some overhanging brambles and nettles.
It looks like a decent weather forecast for tomorrow so I’ve oiled up the bike, pumped up the tyres, and will attempt a world record around my 16 mile country road outing…
Sorry Surfermom, but I have no idea what ‘Caprese Sliders’ are…
Same here OGF, I have no idea what sliders are except that they are very common on foreign English Speaking Cookery Programmes.
I also have the same difficulty with Australian and American Fishing and Aquarium Videos and Programmes, sometimes no idea at all what they are talking about.
So Sunday. I had a day or so with problem with sore throat/neck. I got sent to sleep while the surgeon got to work and the lump got removed. All done with just some pain which I think will ease in a few days. Such is life.
Good afternoon everyone, just popping in to say hello and I can’t resist guessing @Surfermom 's lunch, mozzarella and tomato sandwiches?
I’m sorry to hear your father-in-law’s health is getting worse @Graham , I can imagine this is a very hard time for all the family. I hope Mrs G manages to get some decent sleep.
Still extremely hot, I’ve been indoors most of the day, taking care of housework. I can’t go out there until around sevenish, when the sun will have almost disappeared behind the hills.
Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday afternoon and evening. Make the most of the warm sunshine, Autumn is around the corner… For some, earlier than others!
Thanks QeS I was wondering about these strange cajun dishes and that burger (by any other name) looks a bit wholesome…A bit much for me…I have to look after my figure…
