its cold here , no plans to go out , yesterday wedding fair went ok , saw how the tables will be set out , There was a singer there , although he had a good voice , we agreed it was too loud and it was decided not to go with him ,
Weddings have changed so much from when I got married , theres so much more added ,
an evening do with hundred guest and food, as well as the ceremony and wedding breakfast .
The evening do for me was at a pub with the inlaws .
I ordered a few more shrubs last night , evergreen , I need to put some structure in for the winter months as it looks so bare out there .
My dog needed to go out at 5am this morning and I went out with her , I could hear a gnawing sound near the garage door , I went and got the torch for more light , shone it on the door and there being pulled under was a BONIO dog biscuit , I could tell there was a MOUSE on the other end by the gnawing, I retrieved it by using a litter picker .
Morning all – yet another cold, dull and grey day – can’t wait for Spring to arrive!
It was great to be able to spend a little extra time in bed this morning rather than getting up early to ensure I was looking vaguely human before going in to feed the cat!
As I suspected the Beast is no longer an indoor cat – her regular servants tell me they put her out within 30 minutes of arriving home (although only for 10 minutes)
Today is a day of rest so very little planned – just relax and see what comes!
Good morning - Another grey cool day but I’ve still worked up a sweat doing some housework …and crawling around in the loft putting some extra insulation down. Just about done now. Even bleached and washed the shower curtain.
Family visitors later I expect but until they arrive, I’ll find a film to watch on telly this afternoon and probably have a doze (not sleeping well at nights).
Good afternoon everyone, well it’s 12.30pm here.
The sun was trying to come out a while ago, but suddenly disappeared , so yet another dreary day, not so cold at least, 12c.
Are people still getting married, @Eliza? Lovely to hear about the wedding.
It’s such a rare thing nowadays.
I’ve just made a Pizza alla Marinara in honor of World Pizza Day which was on Friday. Better late than never!
I’ve been craving Pizza since Friday because on the news there were images of pizzerias and people at home making their own pizzas, so I finally got round to making one today.
Delicious,may I modestly say.
It is blowing a blue streak out there and as soon as I step away from the computer, I’ll be wrapping the Christmas light-decorated plants and tress like mummies, hoping that they can survive the Arctic blast. Businesses and schools are already closing for the next few days. I am staying put knowing that only one in a hundred people around here have ever driven in winter conditions - and none of the roads will be treated. It’s funny what a big deal this is to the snowbirds who are wintering here from northern states.
@Eliza, I wish we would return to the days in which weddings were simpler and more intimate affairs, but like Rose, it’s good news to hear that kids are still getting married! Quite nice of you to provide a mouse a meal on a cold winter day .
@Rose, your pizza looks amazing, and it didn’t escape me that those are your olives n top!
With a few days of being more or less housebound, the next round of business is to start round two of The Fifty Percent Reduction Campaign - getting rid of most of the things that are just filling up space in this house. I witnessed my parents and in-laws drowning in “stuff,” and I promised myself not to do the same. If you have a few hours to drop by and help sort things into trash, giveaway, and yard sale piles, you are welcome to pop on by . I’ll buy the pizza, but it won’t be as good as Rose’s.
People are circling the kitchen in need of breakfast, so off I go…
It sounds like you’re in for historical winter weather, in fact, I would never have thought that you could get freezing conditions in Florida! Those poor birds, too.
I hope it won’t be too bad, keeping fingers crossed for you.
