Good Morning Sunday, 19th April 2026

Good morning weekend folks, another mild but sunny autumn day, cool on my walk this morning at 11° but warming up into the low 20s now.

Walk as usual this morning, have put a few snaps I took elsewhere.

Had a late shower once I was home again after planting out one of my Chilli plants (will they survive the winter?) and dragging the green bin round from the front garden.

After my shower I watched an episode of Ripple on Netflix before chopping up that branch I cut down when my son was here a week or so ago. It amazes me how little space a branch actually takes up when cut into smaller pieces, it all fitted into my green bin with room to spare.

My daughter rang just as I had finished to ask me if I wanted to come to Canberra for the ANZAC Day weekend because my middle son is playing/performing with the Federation Guard at the ceremony at the National War memorial. Of course I jumped at the chance… until I looked at my calendar :astonished:

My youngest son is in Sydney that same weekend from Darwin, I presume to visit his fiance who is undergoing specialist seagoing training at HMAS Kuttabul - she is a medic in the navy. It was a toss up where I should go but as I haven’t seen him (or her) since last May it actually wasn’t too difficult a decision. Anyway Sydney is only a train ride away whereas Canberra is a 500km round trip using my precious diesel.

Well, that’s my Sunday morning so far, action packed as always. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care…

Good Sunday morning everyone, nice and sunny today, temperatures should reach mid 20s later on.
Every afternoon I love listening to a cuckoo merrily singing his heart out, from a tree somewhere further down on our land but I never manage to see it. Well, they are solitary, non-social birds, that’s probably why.

Decisions decisions Bruce, I wouldn’t like to be in your situation, but I do understand that the option which calls for a car trip is not very high on the list. Where are we going to end up, with this never-ending fuel price increase! On top of that, our motorway tolls are ridiculously expensive, rising also. Last week I was horrified to see that we’ve reach almost 7 euros for just 60 km of motorway, when I went with my son to take our daughter to Naples train station.
The whole return trip cost almost 30 euros , counting the petrol too.

I know what you mean @Bruce, chopped wood seems to disappear when you gather it all together, no matter how big the tree was. I had a tree cut down the other day, which was leaning over and almost blocking a road and when I had it chopped and piled up for firewood, it was only a tiny pile, full of ants too, so I had to sprinkle lots of “creepy crawly insect powder”.

On Friday evening,I went to see my son taking part in a theatrical performance, it was really enjoyable, the whole cast was very much applauded and when, at the end, family and friends met up in the foyer, I felt extremely proud to see everyone come up to my son congratulating him.

I should get on with doing some excercises , watching my youtube tutor, seeing as I don’t have any classes during the weekend, or perhaps I’ll go outside and do some pruning/trimming? I still have some branches I cut down a few weeks ago lying around, which need to be chopped up.

A good Sunday to you all. What’s for lunch? I’m making a baked pasta dish.

The Abba Tribute band was good, and the audience got into the spirit of it , lots were dressed up like Abba girls .

I danced along with Sons MIL ,and we sang too when invited to .I slept well last night , perhaps I should dance every night .

The morning as started with brilliant sunshine and dry , and I am going to a Orchestral concert this afternoon, which Im looking forward to.

Good morning all the good people on here…

A wonderfully warm sunny day here on the south coast. Not sure what’s going on today, nothing too stressful, I hope. But it will begin with coffee and maybe a old-fashioned fry-up. Had rather a good day yesterday on my photo shoot and looks like I’ll be putting a few hours in to process them all.

Counting down the days to our first cruise of the year, less than two weeks time and will be making some effort to start packing. I wanted to buy a new camera lens beforehand, but I’ll have to run with what I have for the moment.

Have a great day all…

:sunny: :+1:

Morning all – lovely sunny start to the day

I have a horrible feeling I may have to replace my fridge freezer – there is a small patch of ice at the bottom of the freezer, everything is still frozen but is this a sign the freezer is failing?

New cleaner starting tomorrow – why do I feel I should be cleaning the house in readiness today!!

Was feeling depressed yesterday so overdid the junk food and chocolate – will try to be stronger today

Take care – have a lovely day

Hi

Apologies for the late post.

Woke up to a frost, when I say woke up, not a good night, losing a lot of blood from a small wound.

Stil here, that is the important thing.
