Morning all, sunny but cool here, maybe 16°, I think we are starting to get that Antarctic blast that southern parts got a couple of days ago.
Dragged out the mower again to clean the air filter ((just a sponge type thing) soaked it in petrol. No idea how the bitumen paint will last I suspect not very well, looks OK though
It is only the bit on the bottom left that matters, it always rusts through there. That is where the grass gets thrown and cakes.
Went for a drive earlier, just to give the car a run otherwise it just sits in the garage week after week because I never use it for local trips, I can walk everywhere.
Yet another fascinating and Informative post on practical things.
You and Foxy could write a best seller on how to repair things.
A lovely bright summers morning here, but the temperature forecast means the water bottles are already in the freezer to cool the reef tank down after lunch.
I have an odd assortment of frozen fish pieces and nearly empty bags of frozen veg, which will be out to defrost soon and then I will making a batch of fishcakes of varying kinds, Thai, Chinese etc, some for today and the rest frozen.
I like experimenting with food, not always successfully, however being a Northerner I eat it all, nothing is wasted.
The TV is not to my taste at the moment, so this afternoon and evening will be spent sorting out some part bottles of chemicals.
Another bright and sunny day here again, at least there is a strong breeze to keep the heat down.
Had rather a busy day yesterday with our trek to Weymouth and my photoshoot, which went better than expected. Spent the rest of the day wandering along the sea front eating ice creams, Mrs G was happy doing shopping, followed by generally chilling out and a pleasant ride home. Had to stop for a quick McD’s as Mrs G said she was too tired to make tea.
Today will be a chill day and may go for a wonder down at either the local marina or sea front, with the distinct probability of cream teas somewhere. Not really had a chance to look at some of my pics from yesterday, that can wait for another time - after I’ve had sufficient coffee.
Good Afternoon to Everyone who pop’s in…
A decent walk early on and was surprised to see the time wasn’t far off the time I take to jog some of it…Says a lot about the speed of my jogging these days…
Sometimes, I just feel like a walk though, and this morning was one of those days.
A nice day out yesterday with Minted Lamb Pie on the menu at the garden centre…Yum, and afterwards I drove up to Flamborough Head and North Landing intending to have a paddle, but it was crowded with people, the tide was out, and Mrs Fox didn’t fancy having to walk down three hundred steps to be the resident photographer. I probably exaggerated about the steps, but it was too steep for an old woman with a dodgy knee…
Anyway, I drove back up the road and found the turnoff to Thornwick Bay. It’s a lot harder to get to and not a lot of people know where the car park is…Hardly anyone there and only two quid to park all day…You can overlook North Landing from here, and as you can see, not many people wanted to make the trip down all those steps…
Managed to use the long lens and snap this container ship on it’s way to Middlesborough or Tyneside. It was miles away on the horizon, I didn’t even know if I was pointing the camera in the right direction…hence the poor quality.
Looks like a smashing walk, that bay reminds me of one in Victoria but I can’t remember where
I walk past a Maccas everyday but I have not actually bought anything from them for years, I do sometimes get the urge but I know it will be a disappointment. Truth be told I prefer a KFC Zinger Burger but again I haven’t had one of those since last year.
Bought a Zinger two piece feed from KFC in Cowra it was lovely, enthused I tried the same thing in Sydney a month later - it was greasy and bloody awful. You just can’t get the help these days
We seldom go into McDonalds, but there are times it’s easier and handy to have save making something at home. I’m into a quarter pounder with cheese with fries and could eat loads of them, but I try to be mindful of my weight.
KFC is another treat a bucket of chicken wings and dip goes down very well with us, but we only have one very occasionally so as not to eat too much junk food.
Another problem is a KFC and McD’s drive thru’s are very close to us and can be temptation.
