Good Morning Sunday,15th June 2025

Good morning to everyone on this sunny Sunday. Today the cold wind has gone so it feels warmer outside, infact warmer than in the house.

Strolled down to the post box this morning with my letter for my local MP then made a quick visit to Big W for some LED lights.

I have decided to replace the remaining fluorescent bulbs (those stupid ones you need to turn on five minutes before you enter the room) with LED ones. I have a surprising number left because they last so damn long.

Have postponed my Bunnings visit to a weekday, I want to combine it with a visit to the rubbish dump which is far less busy on a weekday. I have some metal objects (ute tailgate etc) and now some electronic stuff old computer and monitor) for recycling - ie the free bit.

Apart from that not much is happening in my neck of the woods. Enjoy the remains of the weekend.

Take care

There isn’t much to do today, so I’ll probably spend much of it pottering about or sitting down. We could go to Currys and look at a printer/scanner we’re thinking of getting I suppose.

Have a good day.

Good morning all! :partly_sunny:

A change of plan today. Instead of heading into town we decided to stroll down to the garden centre and have refreshments in their pleasant cafe. I really couldn’t face the hubbub of town today, anyway I need a bag of multipurpose compost. I might well be tempted to go for a new geranium and hot chilli plant for the windowsill too! :hot_pepper:

Have a good one forum people! :+1:

Hi

Another bad night, saving grace was flicking through the channels and finding the LE Mans 24hrs on live, brilliant in the dark, I am now hooked.

A gentle pottering about is the order of the day, loads of tiny but annoying things to do.

Enjoy the day.

I don’t know why there are so many protest marches in America, They only got what they voted for.

Morning all – lovely sunny start to the day

Beast definitely in my bad books today! She left 4 deposits plus threw up on the conservatory floor! Fortunately, I have been putting newspapers down in her usual spots so it was easier to clean up. She went out immediately after breakfast while I was still clearing up! I actually think she isn’t well but neighbours took her to the vet who said she does have arthritis in her rear legs but apart from that all is fine.

As we are forecast bright sunshine all day my neighbourly duties will now include watering their garden this evening – they grow soft fruits and vegetables. The last time I had to do that I managed to break the hose!

Not much else happening today – will probably sit in the garden reading this afternoon

Take care – have a great day

Thanks RS - I’ll look into that one. One requirement is that it needs to print on 300gsm card/paper. A feature that appeals is refillable ink tanks, although that requirement isn’t set in stone.

G’ Day folks…
Another lazy Sunday and spending far too much time on the forum (according to Mrs Fox)
A five mile saunter around my country course with a couple of short sharp intervals but it was too nice, and a bit warm, for doing too much jogging.
Stopped off at the ATM outside the Tesco to draw out some cash for John the roofer tomorrow. He prefers to be paid in cash…£
I can only draw out £200 at a time from the machine, so it requires three visits over three days. I hope the bank doesn’t think someones nicked my debit card and are drawing money out from locations all over South Yorkshire…
Printers @mart
I try to buy just a printer, because if they are combined and it packs up, you end up with several working scanners and copiers but have to buy a new printer…It’s always the printer that fails.
The beef in the oven is coming on nicely, so It’s off to the cellar to select some sleeping fluid (red wine) and then it’ll probably be a couple of episodes of Downton Abbey…Unless Mrs Fox falls asleep, then it’ll be ‘Bangers and Cash’
:sunglasses:

I can get $1000 a day from ATMs (a limit set by me not the bank) but that is 20 $50 notes which is a bit of a struggle for the machine to dispense so I usually make two withdrawals of $500.

We do have $100 notes but you never see any except under pensioner’s mattresses. I think the checkout chicks would call the police if you tried to use one in a supermarket.

To be fair, like Brexit, only just over 50% voted for Trump so nearly half ended up with a president they didn’t want. (give or take)

Cheers Bruce, I think I’m allowed to draw out £500 per day on a ATM but the one I use only goes up to £200, It does say ‘other’ at the bottom of the list but I’ve never used it and I don’t like to be unfair to other users by emptying the machine. I’m not sure how much these machines store but It won’t be infinite…

Maybe there was just over 50% voting for Trump and to exit the EU, but isn’t that how democracy works? You just have to ‘suck it up’ just like I did when everyone voted for labour and Starmer at the last election.

I don’t think an important decision should be a just simple majority as I have said before but in the case of an elected leader it is fine however you have to acknowledge that in this case the losers comprise half the population of a very big country…

The Australian system at least ends up electing the person that the least people dislike.

I think it’s probably a foregone conclusion which party gets in during a general election Bruce, in the UK the pendulum only swings two ways, when people had had enough of Boris’s and the tory party shenanigans you didn’t need a BBC exit poll to tell you who would get in.
However, with Brexit, Cameron made a catastrophic error by putting it to a referendum…But it’s worked out okay for all the MP’s drinking out of the EU trough because we haven’t really come out have we… :009: Just something to pacify the great unwashed…
