Good Morning Sunday, 12th April 2026

Good morning dear forum folks, It is Sunday again, a day of rest.

I was up fairly early for my walk… my god it was cold. As I walked I checked BOM on my phone, it was only 12° and there was a cold westerly wind blowing, the type normally reserved for August. I continued on but should have gone back for a jacket or at least something to cover my arms.

It is usually about ANZAC Day (25th April) when I change everything for the winter weather, ie start walking in the arvo rather than early morning, change the summer doonas for the winter ones and so on. It is a flexible date but despite there not being a cloud in the sky today is very chilly, the maximum temperature is in the low 20s but that wind is making it feel a lot cooler (the low humidity doesn’t help either). Winter is coming.

Even the bin chickens looked cold. I must remember to start taking my camera with me every time, the phone is pretty crap for anything but a wide shot.

I called in to the supermarket on the way home for milk etc but I can see the rest of the day being spent indoors.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I don’t always comment but I do enjoy reading what you all do with your day.

Take care…
.

Good morning all…

A bright and sunny Sunday here in southern Hampshire, although there was quite a storm during the night. Not really sure what’s happening today, the wife wants to go to the shops for some reason followed by coffee and breakfast somewhere then back to do some housework. I shall probably wander off on my daily walk, maybe grab a few pics with my camera. Apart from that, no idea as to anything else.

Have a great day all…

:sunny:

Morning all – sun is shining although it is still cold with thunder storms forecast for later!

The beast left me 3 little gifts this morning – expected as she didn’t go out yesterday but I just wish she would use her litter tray! I know this isn’t normal behaviour for a cat and I have suggested the neighbours take her to the vet to have her checked out – they think she may have dementia, but that doesn’t explain why she uses the tray for a pee but the floor for a poop! Neighbours are due back later this afternoon so my duties are over for the time being, unless they get delayed or decide to stay with their friends for another day!

OK get ready for yet another whinge! Normally I am fairly relaxed and laid back but today I feel like I could impose some serious harm on someone! It would appear that overnight or early this morning someone decided to get rid of all the rubbish in their car but instead of putting it in a bag and taking it home they have just thrown it out onto the road. For some reason this sort of rubbish invariably ends up on my drive so I have been out picking up fast food wrappers, cardboard coffee cups, receipts, tissues and odd bits of paper! Why do people think this sort of thing is alright!

OK – sorry about that – just needed to get it off my chest!

Take care – hope everyone has a great day

Good morning all

@SheilaP you are not alone when it comes to you getting litter in your front of house , I have a problem with the people opposite who keep their bins on the open front of house , so when any high winds happen their bin blows over and mostly I get it all in my front garden…

So the last Occupant saw what had happened , looked at their litter and just left it for me to pick up , them being half my age I thought was unfair .

So on the next occasion I picked it up bagged it and tied it to their bin , They have a door bell camera , so they knew it was me ,I got a few black looks , but they sold their house and moved on …

Now the new occupiers have allowed the same to happen , looked at the rubbish and just went away for the weekend , So rather than fill my bin with their rubbish I got their bin filled it up and put a note say where their bin was in a safe place . behind my gate .
It didnt go down well instead of thanking me , they have sent me to coventry .!!

I intend to push it through the letter box if it happens again , my patience are wearing thin …

Have a stress free day all …

I used to have the same problem with the people in the house opposite but then I started texting them and ask them to come and collect it after a couple of texts they bought some nets to go over the open bins!

A very good morning to one and all… :039:
Robert’s rambles took Mrs Fox and me to our favourite garden centre at Bridlington yesterday, she had the meat pie and I had ham and eggs…Reet tasty too…
:yum:
Too cold to go strolling about on the seafront looking for ice creams, so we sat in the car park with a magnum for afters.
Couldn’t leave Brid without a view of the sea…

We had the place to ourselves and with the warm sun on the car roof, we just sat for an hour (until the pay and display parking ticket ran out) I hate wasting money…
We used to laugh at all the old people who parked on the front with their flasks of tea and sandwiches…But we’ve turned into one of them…
:astonished:
I took the scenic route home through Beverley (sod the price of the diesel) it was actually the old road that me and the mates used to use when going to Brid on the motorbikes.
Passed a load of big wind turbines with quite a few not working. Whether it was too windy for them or they were waiting for maintenance.

Out on my walk this morning and I wore the heart monitor. The readings were all over the place. They never went above 65 bpm and I think the pacemaker is preventing my heart from speeding up, even after a fast run for sixty seconds it only reached 65 bpm: It didn’t used to despite the pacemaker. It could be the reason why I was struggling on the hills last week, my heart should have been jumping out of my chest on some of the climbs but it appeared to be only ticking over. I shall confront the doctor next week when I go for my annual checkup.

Same here Bruce, I also don’t often comment, but enjoy reading all the posts each morning.
I’ve also been disappointed with photos taken on my phone, so I’m taking my camera with me now, and just an old flip top phone with a cheap sim card in just in case. I only really need to make and receive calls while out walking, I don’t need the power of the internet.
