Good Morning Saturday, 28th March 2026

Yay! it’s the weekend! and supposed to be a rain free day.

Not so cold this morning though I did wear my hoodie while out on my walk. It was quite overcast early but seems to me clearing up as the morning progresses.

Temperature today is supposed to get into the mid 20s which is a vast improvement on yesterday’s 18°. Anything below 20 is too cold to bear especially at this time of the year - my god we are still on daylight savings.

I had to get up in the middle of the night and make a hot water bottle, it got down to 15° last night, my summer doona could not cope, should be OK tonight I hope.

Hopefully I might be able to get in the garden later if it warms up a bit more.

Take care…

Good morning everyone on another wintery day. Hats and scarves are out again, the sky looks like it’s going to snow any minute now, but temperaures too high for that luckily, although much too low for this time of year, only 7C at the moment so I understand what you mean @Bruce , it’s only the end of Summer for you and temperatures are too low. The weather seems to have gone all “topsy turvy” wherever we are in the world. It was nice while it lasted, first two weeks of March with beautiful warm sunshine.
Hoping it’s just a final blast of Winter.

Clocks go forward this weekend , seems really strange as it’s so cold, but I’m glad to have
more daylight hours.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Good morning all…

Bright and breezy here by the seaside. The wind is quite cold, but the sun is warm when sheltered.

Just come back from my daily walk and see that the swan is still nesting and one pair of Canada geese have returned. No idea what happened to the second pair. But after the recent tree hacking, ducks and coots are gradually coming back.

I’m still getting over the open wallet surgery I had yesterday, having to pay for our cruise in August, which was double the usual price because of the total eclipse that will happen when docked in Iceland. So I’m looking for solar glasses and a solar filter for my camera to protect the sensor, but is mirrorless so I won’t be looking directly into it. Although given my luck, it will pour with rain when it happens.

A slot came available at a studio for a period costume photo shoot, but decided against it for various reasons, but last night, I was messaged that another more local studio came available, so I book that instead. I have a fashion studio shoot tomorrow morning and keen to see how that turns out. In a few week’s time, I have a wildcat shoot (A present from the wife) which means driving considerable distance to get to it, so we booked a hotel to make a weekend of it. Whilst I’m doing that, she’ll be off to the retail outlet shops as usual.

As for today, probably go for a fried breakfast somewhere, maybe some shops later and if the weather holds up, a wander along the seafront and watch the cruise ships go by.

Have a great day all…

:grinning: :sunny: :+1:

Hi

Woke up to a very chilly start, 3C and rain.

Still no central heating, gas engineers advised against trying to turn the boiler on due to heat damage.

Back now to the insurers, they really are a pain.

I am doing my exercises to try to get my lower legs working again, they are literally a right pain now.

I had some replacement fish arrive yesterday and I need to be able to stand up to make sure they are alright.

Have a good day all.

Aye Up from South Yorkshire…
Brass monkeys as we made our way to Tesco early on. The sun was shining but a frightful easterly wind roaring in off the north sea. With just the wolds in the way, it’s virtually flat all the way to the coast and the wind picks up the cold off the sea and sends it rushing in to South Yorkshire.
West is best, it’s usually warmer, although we get lots of rain when the wind comes from the west…
I must take issue with your comment about daylight hours Rose… :009:
For a start, we lose an hour in bed tonight…And then they make the day lighter at the blunt end, and darker at the sharp end (so we don’t actually gain anything, they just shunt the day forward). And being as I’m an early bird I’d sooner have it lighter in the mornings. By tea time I’m buggered and either sit and watch telly or go to bed, and it’s horrible trying to sleep in daylight…
Time to go in search of some lunch at a garden centre now. All the family will arrive later for tea and discussions about what’s wrong with the world…

It is what one’s body is used to plus my doona is for summer and very thin. Normally it is around ANZAC Day when I go to a winter doona

When I arrived in the UK last time (it was May) my brother was taking the dogs for their morning walk in his shirt sleeves, I went too but after a few minutes had to return because I was so cold even though I had a jacket on. Anything below 20° is cold for me, when it get down to 10° at night I have a hot water bottle and my winter (feather) doona on the bed.

At the moment, early Autumn, the average daytime temperature is mid to high 20s, occasionally low 30s

Afternoon all – lovely sunny day but with a very cold wind

Did very little yesterday – was feeling quite down for some reason and rather overdid the chocolate! However, feeling better today and have been very good (so far). I have to watch what I eat today because I am planning on having pizza tonight (a rare but welcome indulgence!)

Did some grocery shopping this morning and the plan for this afternoon is tackling my least favourite job – cleaning the shower!

Take care – have a great day

We’ll soon get used to it Foxy, isn’t it worse in Autumn when clocks go back and it’s already dark before 5pm?
I usually wake up really early during the Summer months and I love seeing that the sun has already risen by 5.30am.

You don’t really lose an hour, if your body is used to sleeping a certain number of hours, you will still get your usual sleeping time but will just find yourself waking up an hour later than usual, no problem, it’s Sunday.

You’re right Rose, I didn’t notice much difference this morning because the sun was just coming up when I woke at 6:30 am. I was more worried about the night before. Our daughter and hubby come for tea on a Saturday night, they usually go home about 10:30 pm. Which is late for me, I’m usually tucked up by then…
:sleeping_bed:
However, last night it would have been half eleven by the time they went home and I always get up at 6:30 am. Which is what I did this morning…Old Habits…
:slightly_smiling_face:
So I’ll have to catch up with a snooze on the sofa this afternoon…
It’s like putting an hour in the time bank until October when you can draw it out…Pity there’s no interest…
