Good Morning Saturday, 26th July 2025

Good morning to everyone on this somewhat overcast weekend.

I woke in shock this morning, I opened my eyes to find it was daylight and gone 7am, my clock radio had not gone off at 6am as it has done for nigh on 30 years bringing me the radio news. It is old, I think I bought it in about 1995 - let’s face, how long ago did Sanyo disappear?

Had a fiddle with it and the radio came on, I am hoping it was just a dirty contact(s), will see what it is like in the morning. As a last resort will use some alcohol on the contacts etc. I hope the alarm circuitry has not failed

Am still patching my front door architrave with plastic wood, Can’t get a similar piece at Bunnings and it is too complex for me to be bothered to make another.

It is just where the old latches were cut in. Because they are quite large holes it has taken a few days to build up even with some scrap wood as filler. Hopefully it will be dry enough to sand this arvo then a final fill and it should be ready for painting.

That chain is going, I have never used it.

I might go for a drive later. What are your plans for the weekend?

Have fun.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

A sunny dry day forecast, it is raining already.

My plans for the day have been decided by the reef tank, a red bloom of cyanobacter has suddenly appeared, which needs sorting out.

I also need to get some sleep after a bad night, really looking forward to the air mattress which the NHS is now due to deliver on Tuesday.

Have a good day all.

Morning all…

Just a quick one today. We are taking my father in law out for a day in Weymouth, something which was planned months ago and is the “big family get together”. Personally I could do without it as some of them are not the most pleasant of people. But ‘house politics’ means I have to go along and grin and bear it. But at least Mrs G is driving, so that means I get to have a doze in the car.

Have a great day…

Good morning all! :cloud:

All laid back for today, first stop is the cinema, we’ll be picking up tickets for tomorrow afternoon. Chilli jnr is keen to go and see the new Fantastic Four film. Kind of looking forward to it myself…

Fantastic-Four-First-Steps

Next stop is the pub, a pint or two of the real stuff and a bit of a chit chat :slightly_smiling_face: :beer:
I’ll be ordering a new BCR for my ear, blue is my second favourite colour after green :+1:

And to cap the day off, some savoury snacks this evening, a couple of glasses of red and a really good film!

Enjoy your Saturday people! :+1:

Good morning everyone on a more or less cooler Saturday morning, we had some rain overnight, more to come according to forecasts, which should sweep away the recent heatwave, giving us a breather.

West Side Story, oh what a great classic! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the complete film @Chilliboot, you’ve given me an idea.
Hope you and your son enjoy it.

I hope you fix your Sanyo @Bruce, it would be a pity for this piece of vintage to leave you, after so many years.

Enjoy your stay with your ‘in-law’ family @Graham.

Hope you sleep better with new mattress @swimfeeders.

Wishing you all a great, relaxing Saturday.

What exactly is the blue thing? BCR?

West Side Story was my favourite musical until Les Mis came along (not that I am a great musical lover)

Oh so do I, I am very fond of it, I tried to look its age up on Google but it just comes up with eBay ads describing it as vintage or retro!

A ball closure ring is something I wear in one ear. Essentially it’s a titanium hoop with two little pins that engage (under tension) into two little holes into the ball, thus holding the whole thing together.

Sorry, I don’t get what it is for?

Wearing, Bruce…accesorising, probably the indulgence of an aged ex punk rocker!
Anyway… I’m of to the pub for a spot of posing around the jukebox :+1::sunglasses:

I win’t say what I thought it was or where one wore it as there are ladies here. But I definately didn’t think it was an ear ornament. My guess it would have been on a part of the body lower down where it could dangle free if seen :icon_redface:

Good Morning everyone… :039:
Mrs Fox is just putting the final touches to her perfection before we head off to our favourite garden centre for lunch.
All the family arrive for tea so I hope I get back to catch up with the tour before they arrive.
There’s also qualifying for the Belgian F1…

Sorry bit thick, got it - it’s an ear ring, I used to wear two in one ear years ago but the holes have long since closed up (though you can still see where they were).

The holes were made with a cork and a safety pin - makes me shudder to think about now.

Jethro was sitting, dangling his legs in the sea. Quietly reading his newspaper. This Morning.
When his Friend with Benefits turned up behind him.
And whacked him on the head with a magazine.
“What was that for” He asked.
“That’s for the piece of paper that’s just fell out of your trunks. With the name Susie Wong written on it”.
“Well I was at the races yesterday. Susie Wong was the name of the horse I bet and won on”.
“I bought You, these flowers with the winnings”
“Oh darling, I’m sorry. I should have known there was a good explanation”
That evening he was watching TV.
She sidled up and hit him on the head again.
This time with a frying pan. That knocked him out cold.
When he came to, he asked,.
‘What was that for?’

“Your Horse just phoned you”
NB.
Not all Fairy stories end. “And they lived Happily Ever After”
>>2 A&E

Hi

I missed out on all the earings , skin punctures and tattoos in my working life,

Absolutely no identification marks was the very strict rule.

My right eye is mostly opaque and from my shirt collars to my ankles there was only 10 inch of my body which did not have immediately noticeable scarring and I walked with a limp due to a metal leg brace.

Rules are rules however.
