Good Morning Saturday, 22nd August 2026

Good morning once again on another weekend, definitely showing signs that spring is around the corner. The temperature is well into the low 20s so I have thrown open all the doors and windows to warm up the house.

Took advantage of the sunshine to wash all my bedding and any dirty clothes, it is probably dry already (my next job - remaking the bed)

Spend much of the morning charging batteries on my travelling gear after I discovered the battery in my lantern was flat. Then I started checking the contents of my camper, threw out some pots and pans that I have never used and added things like paper towels and sandwich bags.

Enjoy the lovely weekend.

Take care…

Good morning Bruce and all,

I’ve been away from the column for quite some time due to various things going on in my life, but I’ve still been thinking of you all. I hope everyone is doing well.

It’s the rainy season here in Thailand now, and it seems to rain almost every day.

This morning, I went out shopping for some food, then came back home and started learning about online work. I’m doing this partly to keep myself occupied. As we get older, the people around us gradually become fewer, and spending too much time alone can sometimes feel lonely.

I think it’s a good idea to find something meaningful to do, something that keeps both our minds active and gives us something to look forward to each day. And if we can also make some money by selling things online, that’s even better.

I used to do online business, but after leaving it aside for such a long time, I’ve forgotten quite a lot. So now I’m starting to practice again and hopefully get back into it.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and enjoying life.

Morning all…

Still on “come down” from our cruise, not even unpacked yet, but managed to get my photos out of my camera and start going through them. Have some shopping to do later as there is nothing in the house with a high probability of a large coffee somewhere. I have definitely put on weight as the food on the ship was incredible and ate a lot more than I should have, which means I will have to cut down and resume my daily walks to burn some of it off.

Have a great day all…

Morning good people ! Cloudy and a bit cooler at 16C/60F. Not a lot happening except my wife is making a cake for the lady up the street from us - she is blind now with cataracts but she will get new eyes. As it happens her wee dog is also blind but he is a friendly chap and gets along with ours. That’s all - at least for now…)

@Besoeker It’s very kind of your wife to make a cake for your neighbor. I hope her eye surgery goes well and that she’ll soon be able to see clearly again. And her little blind dog sounds adorable. It’s sweet that he gets along so well with your dog.

Hi Pimmy. Yes, the cake - my wife has just gone to deliver it. Actually we really nice neighbours. We had a problem with brambles covering our shed. Our next door neighbour cleared them off. That was this morning - after my wife went to the lady who is blind. Just simple acts of kindess and it goes both ways…)
