It’s been a funny day, warmer than yesterday, decided to get some washing done but once it was on the line it immediately clouded over but stayed dry until mid arvo when it rained for about two minutes. Fortunately I had a premonition that it would rain (aided by the BOM radar) so I moved the still marginally damp clothes into the car port.
After the excitement of visiting friends yesterday today has been rather dull. Ho Hum…
Good morning all, a chill autumn feel to the day but will no doubt warm up later.
Back from a pleasant week away in Dorset and straight back into the old routine. Just about to head off to the forest with the dogs then there will be some tidying up to do in the garden and some raspberries to pick, which although are still going strong at the moment they are nearing the end I think. I already have around ten pounds in the freezer but my daughter came round to pick some whilst we were away to save them from being wasted and this was her haul, which also included the last of the blackberries. It’s been a good year for the fruit garden!
Wow Barry, that is a lovely fruit harvest! Glad you are back home from Dorset and enjoyed your time away.
Just a few things planned for me today. My coffee group meeting from 11, walk the dog again when I get home, then clean the bathroom. If you want more details on how I spent yesterday, please pop in to Chit Chat.
ST, ooh you little minx you. Hope you are feeling ok today.

Morning all, we’ve had Alf since May and we always think in this country its always raining, I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve got wet since May today wasn’t one of them, out in a t shirt, enjoy your day, might look at a new car later.
Off with my dogs now …I feel privileged yes but I live on an Island so makes sense to catch my dinner now and then …Its 1 of my hobbies that Ive done for more than 4o years What time is it with you now morning???
Good morning everyone a misty start and I was surprised to see a muntjac deer running alone the fence beside me when I took Chloe out .
I am told there are a number living ‘wild’ around here probably escapees from a private collection.
I am waiting for Waitrose to deliver a day later than usual because of my vets appointment yesterday. Chloe had her dressing removed but not the stitches and within half an hour of getting home she had made her wound bleed so I had to cover it again and will try again without the bandage today. I still put her boot on for walking outside.
I was in need of a good nights sleep so took some tablets last night - just pain killers called Gabapentin. They cause drowsiness & send me to sleep. I’ve had 10 hours!!
Anyway I’m up now ( but not raring to go!) I’ve got a trapped nerve in my back & it’s giving me some trouble.
I shall potter about today wearing a back brace. I want to harvest my last tub of potatoes today to go with salmon & salad tonight & to make a couple of meat & potato pies with them for the freezer.
Not done much at all today so far, certainly nothing I should be doing anway. Do you ever get days like that, where you just can’t get going?
My oldest dog who is nearly 16 is worrying me, she is so frail now. Have that sick feeling that I am going to have to make that final decision soon. Can’t bear to think about it hardly, yet I know I must.
Young Gertie has perked up no end though, just waiting for her lab reports now.
I am going to have one more cup of tea, then I really must shift meself to do something.
** Meg, maybe Chloe’s stitches are pulling a bit now, and getting uncomfortable to put weight on, do you think? Hope she feels better once they are out.
