Bore Da Bruce and Chilli and all who follow.
It felt just like old times this morning, up at 5:30 and out on the road while Mrs Fox slept.
The long prommenade is hard to resist for a has been runner so I knocked out four miles with a scumptious hill half way.
Good morning everyone, brrrrr, it’s cold out there this morning, only 18c. We’re going through a cooler period, temperatures have dropped drastically, although still reaching 30c in the afternoons. I was actually able to sit outside yesterday at 3pm when it usually would have been curfew time! This won’t last, next week temperatures will shoot up again.
It must be really hot there Chilli, the neck fan should be a good cooling relief. Hope your basil’s doing well. I’ve managed to make pesto sauce twice so far.
, but I admit I started off the “easy” way, I bought little plants, not seeds.
I wish our winters were as mild as yours @Bruce.
Have a good weekend friends.
Oooh!
Basil pesto
We made wild garlic pesto a few years back, two kilos of leaves for a relatively small jar but what flavour!
The basil seedlings are thriving in all this sunshine, when the secondary leaves appear I’ll pot them on and sow a second batch, it’ll be a little while yet before they’re pesto ready
Morning all – another hot sunny day – temperatures forecast to reach 33c
Have spent the last couple of days just trying to stay cool – temperature in my bedroom last night was 29c!!
Have finished the book which was delivered on Monday – awaiting delivery of another due tomorrow! I feel at a loss not having anything to read!
There is a Pride march planned for the city today – I used to go along when I was younger, that was a time when people were there to have fun and enjoy the day before it all became political.
Nothing much planned for today – too hot – although I must get some laundry done and in this heat it will probably take about 10 minutes to dry!
Take care – have a great day
Morning everyone! Blimey this is the most I’ve slept in in a long while. And it feels terrific! Very few plans today which is lovely in the glorious weather x
Good afternoon Tracey!
Bloomin heck, if it’s afternoon for Tracy it must be good evening for me! In my defence I’m just back from Park Run.
Happy weekend everybody! On a long drive to a kids birthday party (my niece’s!) - haven’t had to go to one of these for a good few years!
Let us know how you get on with the neck fan Chilli - does it make any difference? Thinking of getting one myself!
Hi
Enjoy the heat and sunshine all, I used to love it.
It is not good with end stage heart failure,my right leg, normally the good one ,is the one they took the big vein out of, to provide my quadruple bypass.
It is now elephant size, even my left leg, the bad one, is swollen.
Stuck on the bed, in a V shape.
I have a carer here at Ipm, can’twait.
My fans just stand in idle contemplation during the winter (just realised the fourth one must be in the spare bedroom)
Yes, it does make a difference Sheila.
I find that after a few minutes it starts to blow warm air which makes sense, no cooling unit involved.
Great for popping on every now and again when needed.
I’ll certainly be taking it in my day bag for my hospitality work when I’m not front of house.
It was a gift, you can get some really effective units on Amazon if you’re looking for something a bit more gung ho although that’s reflected in the price of course.
But all thing’s considered, recommended
Just sat outside while Mrs Fox peruses Bonmarche we’ll find somewhere to eat and then set off for home. About a 4 hour drive all being well.
Have booked to come again in October.
Afternoon you splendid bunch. Lovely walk into town this morning and back by the pool. Always annoying when the weather back home is as nice as it is on holiday, I should have stayed behind! Hope you’re having excellent weekends so far x
Electricity must be considerably cheaper in Australia Bruce
Basil’s looking good Chilli and your pesto in that jar must have been delicious with wild garlic.
Hello Rose! How’s your daughter’s visit going?
It’s going great Tracy, she says I’m feeding her too much!
She’s going back tomorrow but will be home again at the beginning of August.
It’s funny you mentioned sleeping longer, I got up later than usual this morning, at 7am!
Glad to hear you’re having nice Summery weather in the UK. It’s getting hotter again here, too.
Enjoy the sunshine.
I don’t think so, recently received a notice it is going up again to 36c/kWh. I pay over $200 a quarter for electricity. We are paying for gold plated poles and wires.

High enough to make one think they are back in Portugal
I was happy yesterday when my thermometer showed 22° on my patio after the cold we have been having.
